SKILLED at PLAYING and TRAINING! 🐶

Pet care experience

There's nothing like the genuine love and friendship that only a dog can achieve in my personal opinion. Finding the right individual to care and give the love, attention and let's not forget fresh air and exercise that you give, isn't always easy. I have a real soft spot for all dogs; big or small, old and young or just plain "unique". I grew up raising Guiding Eye for the Blind dogs. My sister, mom and I helped to train, socialize and get the adorable, full of energy and LOVE, all bundled into a controlled, confident, but most importantly, HAPPY Labrador to become the remarkable "eyes"for those who truly need them! We had them from the ages of approximately 4 months - 1 year to 1 1/2 years old. Saying goodbye was ALWAYS the hardest part, but it was an incredible experience that I came away with not only the best training techniques for puppies ( many also work on older dogs too!!! ) but a genuine love, respect and an incredible sense of respect for EVERY DOG! They're amazing animals! As the 1st ones to welcome the puppies into our home, we also et the privilege to have " first refusal" when they retire! Which just simply means, when they "retire" from service, our once puppy comes back home to use who's only job at that stage is to as any retired dog would do, just "chill". After welcoming home all 5 dogs we raised, I am also comfortable and understand all the needs and care an older dog requires. Lastly, at the moment, my family and I have only 1 dog that lives with us. He is a 5 lb Toy Poodle named Rugby. He's older and is used to other dogs. He also "tolerates" his little "brothers" ( still not positive Rugby has forgiven me after I brought my second baby home from the hospital ... ) He's one of those old guys that will just walk away when he's done playing! I would love the opportunity to come and either walk your fur-baby once a day, or if you need someone to pop in a few times a day to give them a walk or play time, I am pretty flexible Monday-Friday from 8am ( as close as to 8 as I can ) until 4pm for and pop in's or walks. I'll be happy to help with any training you may be in the process of. If you are looking for any tips or tricks, I'm happy to share what has and HASN'T worked. :) I always add in any behavior or leash training techniques while caring for your pet. I only believe in gentle, yet firm training that keeps the importance of postive reinforcement for a job well done....and an approach of using only firm, " I'm in control" tone of voice and eye contact as the only form of discipline. No animal should ever feel fear or anger!! I look forward to helping you feel less stress knowing I will love and take care of your fur-baby, as much as you do!

Alissa took care of our dog for a week and she sent us photos and kept in touch with us while we were gone. This was our first time using Rover and the first time our dog has ever stayed with someone he didn't know in their home. He was like part of the family. We are thankful for Alissa for taking him in and doing such a great job with him! We highly recommend her!

My dogs absolutely adored Alissa! I think they were almost disappointed when we came home! The were happy and stress free and my house was tidy. I really do not think that you can ask for anything more.

Alissa took in our precious morkiepoo for a full week while we were on vacation. This was our first time using Rover and first time Nina was away without family. We were very nervous but Alissa made us feel very safe and comfortable. We live in NJ and we vacationed in Lake George. We figured better and safer to leave with a sitter close by us just in case of emergencies. It all worked out perfectly. We couldn't be happier finding Alissa. She sent us updates and pictures and Nina seemed very happy. Highly recommend. Thank you for taking great care of Nina ?

I have a large fenced in yard with lots of room to run, play and get their energy out! Depending on the amount of training your dog has and if they are crate trained will determine if they will be able to be in my main house during rest time or in my 4-season sunroom that is more durable for sharp nails, accidents and ability to separate and give if need be. Either option for indoor time are vertically the same. The sunroom is part of my house with large glass siding doors that enter into my kitchen so I’ll easily be able to always have my eye on your fur baby.

I am a stay at home mom of two elementary aged boys. I am home during the day while the boys are in schools, only leaving for scheduled appointments and errands time to time. After 2:30pm Monday-Friday the kids will be back home and are huge animal lovers! I am available to give lots of potty breaks, love and attention! I also have raised 6 Guiding Eye For the Blind puppies over the years and am happy to share the knowledge I have gained in assistance with helping to train your puppy’s!
