Need to go away but don't want to uproot your loved furry creatures while you're gone? I am available for weekend help so you can enjoy some time away without rushing back home. If you need someone who cares about your pet's well being as well as providing you the peace of mind so you can be focused or enjoy some time away: I am that woman! I have experience with large breed dogs (labs, german shepherds, collies) - down to the teacup varieties. I am active: we can walk, run, or play (and when your cat needs cuddles, I am there). Does your dog needs some strong guidance? Maybe your breed needs soft and sweet command -I am very consistent, gentle and loving. Alissa is probably our dogs' favorite sitter now. Jake has some knee issues and she went so far as to give him a massage to help his rear legs. And Gus immediately took to her with cuddling (not an easy feat with an unneutered male). She also took them on walks even while it was snowing. So we were impressed. And we were so grateful that she showed up last-minute due to a work issue with the first dog sitter we scheduled. We contacted her at basically the time we needed her, and she was there in about half an hour. Needless to say, we will definitely be calling her again the next time we're in Portland.

I will treat your home with care, and bring your pet back to wherever they rest during the day. I can also bring packages in as needed and always freshen messes or refill water as necessary. For cats if they need to hide I respect their independence and can make sure food is changed and litter is cleaned, etc.

I like to know activity level and overall schedule to keep it as true to your dog's life as possible (ie what time are they fed, do they typically go out first thing in the morning, etc). Any details and of course any important details specific to your loved one that any stranger/new person should know (like food aggression or a toy they don't let anyone near) to be safe as well. I have not taken a dog first aid/CPR course but I am human certified and I know where on a dog to give CPR - and I would be extremely vigilant and attentive to any animal in need and get them to a vet/emergency shelter ASAP. I ACT I do not panic.
A typical day
I am very active and will walk them and happy to play with the stubborn pups that prefer a yard over a leash. I am not a pushover if your dog needs some strong guidance - but I am very gentle and loving. Mostly willing to follow however your family handles the dog and whatever rules (or no rules) you put in place.

Availability
I currently work full-time as a scientist Monday through Friday nine to 5:30 PM. My goal is to help people with weekend plans, I am open to cat care if it is once a day and the time is negotiable around my work schedule. I have my own Chihuahua mix, Primrose, and she receives her daily walks and care as well. Happy to spread the loving help over the weekends.
