I am honored to be writing a testimonial for Alison Moore. I have known Alison for almost ten years, and she has been dog-sitting my 3 year old Doberman for the last 3 years. Alison is one of the most responsible pet sitters I have ever met. Not only is she a true animal lover, but she is incredibly in tune with the needs of the pet, as well as the needs of the pet owner! She puts so much love and care into pet-sitting, from daily correspondence (with pictures!) to the owner to setting up pet play dates with the pup’s friends (when allowed) to plenty of puppy snuggles. Not only do I trust her with my pet; I trust her with my home. She is truly a gem!

I am a loving but firm person when it comes to interacting with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I am always aware of a dogs body language to ensure that they are happy and not stressed or upset. If a dog is working on a particular skill, I have learned to balance positive reinforcement and firm handling as my experience with more stubborn dog breeds increases.

It is important for me to know any training that the dog may be working on, as well as, any behavioral traits that would ensure both the dogs and my comfort (aggressive behavior, jumping, phobias, etc.) I would also like to be aware of what the dog enjoys doing so I can personalize their care (chew toys, running, fetch, etc.)
A typical day
- There are many different parks and hiking trails in Gaithersburg and the surrounding areas that I frequent with dogs of higher energy. My personal neighborhood is perfect for dog walking as well. I enjoy playing fetch and tug-a-war with the dogs, and I have gotten good at backing dogs off when they get too aggressive.

Availability
I am available to dog walk in the afternoons and evenings Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Other days during the week vary depending on school schedule. I am available to house/dog sit over the weekends, and during the week depending on the distance from my school.
