Experienced & loving veterinarian
Pet care experience
I am a recent graduate (May 2022) from the Iowa State University doctorate of veterinary medicine program, meaning I am a veterinarian! I start my new job in July, so I have some weeks free in May and June. I have 10+ years of experience with walking dogs of all sizes and house-sitting. I am confident administering medications, including insulin shots for diabetic pets. I am knowledgeable of the various signs that pets may show when they are feeling ill, so you can be certain that your pet is safe and happy while you are away. I have 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant, in addition to my experience as a veterinary student. What sets me apart from other sitters and walkers is my extensive experience in animal care. I am also Fear-Free Certified and have received training in feline/canine CPR. I have cared for dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes and I am confident that your pet will be in good hands with me.
Reviews
Ali took great care of our 2 dogs. She is very knowledgeable and we were very comfortable having her stay at our home with the dogs. Highly recommend!
Alison took great care of our older pup that takes a while to warm up to bew people.
Alison was wonderful with my less than well-behaved dogs! I received regular updates, and she went well beyond my expectations when she shoveled my driveway so I could get my car in, and washed and changed the sheets on my bed so I could just go to bed!
Alison was great! She was very attentive and made sure to keep us updated the entire time we were away. Our boys seemed very happy while under her care, I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.
About Alison L.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I prefer to only care for pets in the clients home, as I have my own pets at home that don’t appreciate newcomers! I have plenty of experience house-sitting and will treat your home and your furry babies with the same respect and love that I treat my own.
Information Alison L. would like to know about your pet
Before interacting with or walking a dog, it’s important for me to know if they have any reactivity (with people, cars, other pets, prey animals, etc). It’s also important for me to know if there’s any behaviors that you’re currently working on that I should continue working with them on as well.
A typical day
I am a huge advocate for physical and mental stimulation, in both dogs and cats! I’ll always go at your pets pace and comfort level. Walks will be kept to the immediate area surrounding the clients home unless a seatbelt/carrier is provided for the car.
Services
Alison can watch in your home
Availability
My schedule is relatively open at this time, so your pet would be my top priority! I meet with all clients at their home prior to any dog/cat/house-sitting booking.
