Prioritizing safety & well-being!

Pet care experience

I've grown up with dogs, but for the past 13 years, I've had ample experience dog sitting and dog walking dogs of a variety of breeds, ages, sizes, energy levels, and behavioral needs. A couple of years ago, I rescued Otto, a German Shepherd mix who is probably about 3 years old. As those who have adopted dogs know, it takes time for dogs to de-compress after adoption and their full personality comes out over the course of a few weeks. During that time, I discovered that Otto, who came to me as an adult dog with past life experiences and trauma, was quite sensitive/anxious and highly reactive. I have worked diligently with him for the past couple of years to support him by strengthening our relationship, and through training and play to build his confidence, help manage his reactivity, and change his relationship to triggers. It's important to me to work with each dog's individual needs and strengths to ensure they have the best possible experience during their time with me. As an owner of a sensitive dog, it's a priority to build a network of people that understand my dog and can meet his individual needs, and I want to do the same for you. Your dog's comfort, safety, and happiness are my priority and I am looking forward to building a relationship with them!

Alison is the most loving, supportive, responsible and knowledgable pet caregiver I know! She will undoubtedly give your pet the best attention and care personalized to all of their needs. She has extensive knowledge about dogs, is extremely trustworthy, and will go above and beyond for your pet. She's also really great with cats, and has such a calming demeanor, my cats absolutely love her. Your pet will be in amazing hands with Alison!

Alison is a great and in tune pet sitter, she is observant of surrounding when taking dogs out and has great experience with reactive dogs. She is nurturing, kind, and loves other pets as though they’re her own! She does an awesome job of maintaining training goals and habits that are in place which I greatly appreciate!

Alison was our go-to sitter for our dog, Susan. She is attentive and responsible, and I knew that whenever we would be out of town, the house and the dog would be in great hands. I know she's also a loving dog mother herself. I totally trust her with my pets!

Alison is amazing with dogs of all types and temperaments. On walks she prioritizes making sure they're happy, safe, and comfortable so that they have the best time on their outings together. Dogs (including my young Corgi) love the energy she has when they see her - no doubt she brings the fun!

Safety, trust & environment

I want to know your routine with your dog and their preferences/enrichment needs so I can support them and help them have the best experience during their time with me! The services I offer at this time are drop-ins, walks, and dog sitting in the owner's home. Walks can be modified based on a dog’s preferences, energy levels, and environmental needs. If your dog has any sensitivities or triggers, I’d like to know that so I can put them in environments where they can thrive and be as comfortable as possible. I can also incorporate play, training, or other forms of engagement during our walks depending on the dog’s interests and needs!

Information Alison C. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to learn from you about your dog’s personality, quirks, preferences, and any sensitivities or triggers so that I can support them while we are together and I put them in environments and situations that are safe and appropriate for them. Please let me know if your dog has any food allergies or what they are most motivated by (particular foods, toys, etc.). I can drive dogs to walking spots if needed and if your dog does well in the car (We would discuss beforehand if this is appropriate for your dog).

A typical day

I will tailor my time with your dog to meet their needs and engage in activities that are truly enriching for them! All dogs are different, so I’d love to know if your pup prefers long, sniffy walks, higher energy play like fetch, flirt pole, or tug-of-war, or doing doggy parkour (jumping on or over, walking on novel surfaces, etc.), or if there’s any training you’re working on that you want me to brush up on with them (tricks/commands, practicing settling among distractions, building engagement or food drive, nose work games, etc.). My goal is to keep your dog as happy and fulfilled as possible!
