Pet care experience
My first word was "doggie." Then when I was 9, I told my parents that if we didn't get a dog by the time I turned 10, I was moving out to go live in a household with a dog! Caring for my childhood dog was an essential piece of my happiness growing up. In the last few years, I've fallen in love with cats as well. I have had the absolute joy of caring for various dogs and cats for up to two weeks at a time, both in my home and the pet's house. I hope to get the opportunity to get to know your beloved pet!

Alison is fantastic! My dog Porter had such a great time with her. Her communication, willingness to run/exercise with Porter, and her flexibility was wonderful. Such a relief to know that my dog is comfortable and enjoying himself hanging out with Alison as much as I enjoyed my vacation! Highly recommend!
The first time I met Alison, she was on the ground playing with a cute toy poodle. Dogs love her more than food, and she reciprocates. I have a lot of rules for my dog Lupin, which makes it stressful for me to find someone to take care of him. Alison has relieved all that stress by being unbelievably considerate of my often quirky requests. She's highly detail-oriented and disciplined with the doggo but also knows when to shower him with love when appropriate. Lupin is a Vizsla who needs essentially infinite exercise. Alison will take Lupin on 4+ mile runs which means I get a happy dog and a calm evening after work. I can't recommend Alison enough! She quite literally will go the extra mile for you.
Alison took care of our two cats briefly and all went smoothly! Our cats are picky, particularly around food, but she took good care of them and followed all of our instructions.

It's very helpful to know how your pet is around other animals and people. My partner has a very friendly 1.5 year old Vizsla typically spends a lot of time at my house. Would your pet enjoy this company or do they need to have the house to themselves? I'd also appreciate knowing what you do and don't allow so I can reinforce positive behaviors and not encourage any undesired habits.
A typical day
I love to do anything from cuddling on the couch with a pet to taking a dog on hikes/runs, whatever type of activities they enjoy.

Availability
I am a high school teacher and have easily incorporated pet care into my early morning routine. Since I live close to the school, it is easy for me to check in during the day when I have a free period if I am boarding your pet and probably feasible to stop by your house if your pet is staying in the comfort of their own home. The school day ends at 2:30, which means there is plenty of time for a nice long afternoon dog walk (if applicable)! Furthermore, my evenings and weekends are fairly flexible. :)
