Let me love on your pet!

Pet care experience

I have been an animal lover my entire life, starting as a kid, taking care of my cats, emptying the litter boxes, brushing, feeding and even bathing them. I did pet sitting for neighbors and friends as some of my first jobs as a kid. We had 7 cats! I am experienced with administration of medications, for cats AND dogs. I have been a dog owner since 2007, when I got my lab as a 12 week old puppy. I have dog sat for a number of friends over the years as well. My dogs are super easy to get along with. My lab, Finn, is 14 and is slower moving these days. I only have him part time because I share custody of him with my former husband. My Great Dane, Watkins, is a gentle giant and loves my kids. He loves to gallop like a horse through the open undeveloped area in our neighborhood, otherwise he's a big couch (bed) potato. We also have a hamster. I do have a Pet Safe (brand) perimeter fence (the wireless one - not in ground), so if you use one at your own home, it could be used at mine too. I'm big on communication and always send pics. I also have indoor and outdoor cameras so I can keep an eye on things at home if I have to run out for a short period of time. I work from home.

We used Alisia for a last minute trip. We wanted someone with a fenced in yard, but our dog did well with Alisia's active household, walks, and playing with her children. Don't be frightened by her huge dog, he's a gentle one! Loved the pictures that Alisia sent us regularly! Communication was very good! Thx Alisia!

My husband and I were very happy with the care that Alisia provided for our small dog, Louie. And it was apparent that Louie was happy, too! He was initially a bit intimidated by her sweet big dog, a Great Dane, but she helped Louie quickly adjust and relax.

Alisia did a great job with our puppy! Great communication and it really seemed like Izzy enjoyed her time with Alisia! Thank you, Alisia!

Alisia watched my cat while I was out of town for several weeks. I couldn’t be happier at how she took care of Thumper. She came when she said she would, interacted with Thumper, checked his food and water, and petted her. If and when I go away again, she will be the first person I contact. Thanks again and great job. Pets that stay in my home will keep their normal routines as far as eating, sleeping, etc. I always feed separately, under supervision, or behind a closed door if necessary. My dog sleeps on my bed, or on one of the many dog beds around the house. If your dog is a bed sleeper, that's fine with me! I prefer not to have my dog on the furniture, but if your dog is used to that, I will cover the sofa to accommodate that.

My dog is great with kids and other dogs, and my kids are great with dogs, too. Any guest dogs get lots of extra attention around here, not just from me, but from my 3 kids as well.

A typical day

Morning potty break right away, breakfast, and some snuggles. Usually a lunchtime or afternoon walk or walk/romp depending on the age/needs of your dog. We have a great area in the neighborhood for off leash play if your dog is trustworthy to not run away! Varying meal times are no issue with me working from home. Evenings usually include extra outside time and play, especially when the weather is nice! If it is ice cold, we'll get out for a walk at some point in the day, but maybe not "extra" in the evening!

I work from home 100% of the time, so no need to worry about how often potty breaks can be provided. I try to break away around lunchtime to take a walk around my neighborhood for my own sanity, and of course I bring Watkins and whomever we might have as a guest, along with!
