Both myself and my husband Shane had dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters when growing up. Since we got together (over 20 years ago) we have only had cats. Sadly they both passed away last year and our home feels very empty without an animal to share it with. We have a 7 year old daughter who is calm and gentle and has grown up with the cats. She also helps our neighbour take his dog to the park for walks too. We aren’t ready yet to get a new pet for ourselves but thought that this might be a nice thing to do whilst we ponder our next steps. Thursdays and Sundays aren’t that good for us as we having caring responsibilities for my mum (who has a cat), so we wouldn’t be able to take a doggie with us, but the rest of the week and Saturdays are fine. My husband Shane works from home and would welcome the company during the day. We are all animal mad and would make sure your pet would have lots of love and attention whilst staying with us.
