Professionally, I spent two years as a dog trainer and built on that knowledge as a dog daycare attendant for three years. I'm comfortable with both single and multiple dog households; I supervised the play of up to 60 dogs in the dog daycare. I was known as the "naughty dog" whisperer, befriending the misunderstood dogs (shy, reactive, high energy). I have been a Rover sitter for three years, with several regular clients who are happy to provide references and referrals. I can provide bathing, basic grooming, and nail trims; all skills picked up while working in daycare (and done regularly with my own dogs). I spent 4 years at a big box pet store as a specialist and animal care manager. I've given medication (oral and injection, under vets orders of course), fed, and cleaned enclosures of everything from fish to small mammals, snakes to parakeets. As I work full time at my primary job (8 hours/day weekdays), my services are currently limited to existing clients and their referrals only. I generally provide overnight services only on weekends and holidays. Drop in service is available in the morning and evening all week. I want to build trust with your pets. I try to keep it low key the first visit or two to avoid any additional stress that could associate me with negativity. I am trained in positive reinforcement techniques, so I'll always ask where the treats and toys are to provide a positive atmosphere. For safety, the first few visits I will take your dog on a leash outside if you don't have a fenced yard. If your pet is a front door escape artist, I can also bring an x-pen or gate for extra protection at the door if needed.
