Pet care experience
I provided pet sitting services for many years while I went through grad school and then took a break while I moved around and got settled. I recently lost my beloved dog of almost 9 years and would now love to extend my affection for animals to others in need of care. I went through many obedience training programs with my own dog and sought out additional education on force free and fear free animal care. I am committed to understanding animal behavior and the unique needs of each individual animal and have my quirky pup to thank for this passion. I have a lot of patience and compassion for owners struggling with behavioral challenges with their dogs and would be happy to help assist in any current training if desired. I’m not a dog trainer, but feel comfortable maintaining consistency in whatever your current training or enrichment routines are. Additionally, I always make sure I know your dogs specific care needs, as well as your preferences, as each individual and family is so unique! My most important goal is that your pet is healthy, happy, and given the care they deserve to live their best life. I look forward to meeting you and the fur members of your family!

Alicia was WONDERFUL! She responded immediately to all messages, sent cute photos (even of my plants) and was so so flexible with my schedule. My cats warmed up to her very quickly and loved her company for the almost 20 days I was gone! Cannot thank her enough!
Alicia did a great job looking after our indoor cats, 5 chickens and 2 ducks while we were away for Christmas. The cats were watching the front door for her after we returned.

I am unable to offer boarding in my home, but will ensure for any drop ins and overnight visits that your animals feel well cared for and loved. I always make sure to provide updates regarding your pets health and of course photo updates from each visit/stay!

Let me know if your dog has any special preferences or behaviors that I need to account for. I am comfortable accommodating animals with a variety of personalities, but need to know in advance if dogs that will be cared for have any history of reactivity or aggression, and if they have previously been cared for by unfamiliar people.

Availability
I work full time, but my schedule varies each week and I work from home a lot, which offers me some flexibility on drop in times. If you would like an overnight stay, I can let you know which days I am scheduled to work from home and available more often (on the dates you request), and which days I'm in the office. I cannot provide afternoon drop ins on days that I work in the office, so your pet will need to be okay without a drop in for an entire work day.
