Since I was six I’ve been taking care of pets. We only had two cats until 2017 when we adopted a dog and brought one in our home. I help feed, bathe, brush, give meds, and take to the vet. If my mom goes out of town I will dog sit for her and if a family member needs me to, I dog sit for them as well. I have also done cat sitting for family as well. When it comes to cat care I clean out their litter box at least once every other day.

Alicia did an excellent job taking care of our dog, two cats, and four ducks. She was quick to respond if we had questions and sent us updates and photos throughout the visit. Our house was as tidy as we left it. We would trust her to watch our pets again!

For house sitting, if the yard is fenced in I would let the dog out and either watch them from inside, or go outside with them and maybe play with them if they like to do that. If yard is not fenced in then I would take the dog out on walks, they could be long or short depending on the dog’s health condition, time of day, age of dog, etc. I will sit on the floor and pet, brush, or play with the dog if they like that. And for timid dogs I would give them time to get to know me.

I like knowing about any meds they may need to take and how many times a day they need the meds. Also need to know a basic routine such as how often you take the dogs on a walk and what times you like them fed.
A typical day
I love playing fetch with dogs when we are outside. I also love to pet and cuddle them. Tug of war while indoors is also something I like to do with dogs. I don’t have any special locations I like to go but I know of a really nice dog park I can take them if it’s alright with the owners

Availability
I’m a student at CCAC studying psychology and I work full time at a sub shop. Before I leave the house and after I get home I let the dogs out. When I get home at night I will feed them as well. I’m always checking water bowls throughout the day to make sure they have fresh clean water and I fill it everyday as well. With cats, if they are self feeding I will fill their bowl as needed. But if there is a scheduled feeding time I would do my best to stick to it. Also I will clean litter boxes as needed as well, or once every other day.
