Vet Tech who loves all animals
Pet care experience
As long as I can remember veterinary medicine has been the truest love of my life. None of us get into this work for the money but for the passion of our desire to be a voice for our patients. I have been a veterinary technician, veterinary care supervisor at the veterinary teaching hospital (UGA) , since graduating high school and at 18yrs old walking straight into my love of veterinary medicine with no hesitation. At 15yrs old, I was able and honored to work and help train at a local kennel with 2 of the best dog trainers in the world of which 20yrs later... I still work at their kennel as needed. My clinical experience in vet med is what sets me apart from any pet sitter... I know how to help give medications, look for signs of distress if you have a pet with any medical conditions as I have clinical experience in the detail of a person without my experience in veterinary medicine may not notice. I’m pretty picky on my pet sitters and my babysitters because they are going to be responsible for my family furnish my time away. I left my professional career to spend more time with my family and to get back to my true love of not medicallly treating patients but to connect with them and help give pet owners the security of who is with their family pets while away. I know I stress when I leave my pets and I have a few people who I pay to stay in my home and provide their veterinary expertise while I am away as my pets, just as yours are a part of your family and I would like to help ease that stress for you and your pet along with cutting down on the amount of pets to take care of for the better social attention I can provide vs a kennel with a few people and too many dogs - I look forward to any questions you may have and anything we can provide to be your next pet sitter!

Information Alicia C. would like to know about your pet
The more information the better; being a veterinary technician and having trained many dogs for basic obedience and behavior issues.. along with owning my late husbands PTSD therapy dog, all and any information is vital- what brand of food, any medical conditions, who is your veterinarian, vaccination history, crate/house trained- which type of crate (wire vs air liner), and medications, thunderphopic, allergies, do they use the bathroom on a leash? and which type of leash and collar are they used to?, are they OK with other animals and or children? Have they ever stayed away from you or their home? you know your pet best and I have been trained that any information you give me will never be enough and is always valuable no matter how silly you may think it is :-)
A typical day
Having provided in house care, boarding kennels, and how I like my pets to be treated while I am away... my love of training dogs, reading their body language to make sure they feel secure and comfortable and well loved. I enjoy throwing balls, Frisbee, and nightly walks with my pups as well as car rides as most dogs absolutely love to get a little wind in their face and travel to my 20 acres just down the road where i have 100ft lead ropes, different outside kennel areas that are well shaded and allow a bit of freedom to play in a small creek with have and as a veterinary professional- I am not a fan of dog parks as I am a responsible pet owner and vaccinate my dogs, unfortunately not everyone else does and I have seen many scary things dogs have become infected with at the various dog parks in the area and its my personal and professional opinion they are safer on my land which I know is mostly controlled and only vaccinated dogs are on my property.
