Alice's dog buddy, long walks and love!

Pet care experience

I'm Alice, a final year Veterinary Medicine student at the university of Bristol. I am an experienced dog handler, ball thrower, tummy tickler and treat provider; having worked with Rover for 7years now. All resident dogs are invited to become part of my family and excellent, attentive care promised. During your pets stay or visit I will update you with photos, videos and updates of their day and behaviours through your preferred way of contact. Through academic studies alongside my many years of experience working with Rover and having 2 dogs of my own, I have a practised understanding of the needs, behaviour, and temperaments between individuals. Professionally, I have great and varied collective experience, I have worked on a farm for 3 years, providing husbandry to different farm animals, also involving work with trained sheepdogs. I have worked at multiple veterinary clinics and a grooming centre. Thus having great experience understanding the timeless devotion and care that is needed when working with all sorts of personalities, sizes and barks! I am practised at administering oral medication if this is something that your dog requires. As a vet student, I have competency in injectable medicines too. I live in a spacious, clean and friendly flat with two other vet students, both on hand for extra cuddles, attention, walks and companionship! I live a very short walk away from the downs, ready for fun, long walks, come rain or shine and a warm welcoming home and a big heart for all furry friends! I have car access too so longer adventures like to Ashton Court are possible! My studies are nearly entirely online so there will be very rare occasions where your dog will be left alone, and in those instances it is likely that one of my two, wonderful, fellow vet students will be at home, on hand to provide cuddles, company and toilet breaks. All of this will be communicated prior. I have a clean, spacious and lovely flat. There's ample sofa space for those important sofa naps. Area for crating, if per your dogs' routine, and luscious and beautiful local green parks. Prior to your beloved pets stay / beginning of my care, I offer an initial meet and greet session, either at my house or yours (whichever is preferable to you). So that I can become familiar with your pet, and in vice versa, and we have proper opportunity to discuss their care needs. It also helps with waggier tails at drop off if your pooch is already familiar with me. Check out my photos to see lots of happy, tail-wagging pooches, long walks around the beautiful Bristol harbourside, Ashton court, day trips to Weston, sofa cuddling and sleeping on beds. I’m primarily based at home, my university studies still mostly online. Pet care comes as a priority, not for the job, but for the enjoyment and satisfaction of happy pooches and happy owners! My days will be focussed around your pet, with long lunchtime walks, regular toilet breaks and cuddles on the sofa. I have a safe, secure, spacious and bright first floor flat, with 2 main doors before reaching the road. There is no garden space but hourly toilet breaks and strolls are offered instead.

Kobe had such a wonderful day with Alice. It was very last minute and they had never met before, however I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with Alice and he had such a wonderful day. Would highly recommend

As ever, Ellie had an amazing time with Alice. We‘re always so reassured by how much fun they have together, we never have any concerns leaving Ellie anymore. Will continue to leave Ellie with Alice for as long as she’ll have her!

Alice looked after our pooch for 4 nights and he clearly had a brilliant time! The daily updates Alive kindly provided showed he was clearly very much enjoying himself, was being well looked after and entertained! Alice's professionalism was clear from the moment we met her. she clearly cares for animals and their well being, and knows what she's doing! She had even packed up his stuff and folded the crate for us for when we came to pick him up which was really nice! I would highly recommend Alice to anyone who wants their pooch left in safe and capable hands for any length of time!

Information Alice P. would like to know about your pet

I ask that you advise if your dog has any specific behavioural or medical needs. I have experience with dogs with many behaviours and medications required and always prefer to discuss this beforehand. All dogs should be fully vaccinated, up to date with flea and worm treatment and toilet trained. If your female dog is in heat, or due to come into heat during their stay, please let me know.

A typical day

I love to stimulate your dogs both physically and mentally. There's always time for games, ball throwing, treats, training (having great and varied experience studying and practicing animal behaviour), beds for napping, and 3 very friendly (and animal obsessed!) vet students for cuddles. Our favourite days are days spent on long walks and adventures and exploring the beautiful Somerset countryside.
