Pet care experience
I am a member of, and I have certification from, the National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers (NarpsUK), including certification in both dog and cat first aid. I am fully insured as a pet care business owner in my own right, on top of Rover’s standard insurance. I started house-sitting at the age of 20, and have taken care of people's pets part-time over the last 13 years, while at the same time continuing with my education and career as an archaeologist. I am comfortable with, and relaxed around all animals, and have my own rescue dog, who can be reactive. I am therefore well aware of the challenges that come with a reactive dog and know how to avoid, deal with, and diffuse encounters that lead to reactivity. As with most Dog Walkers, or anyone in the field of animal services, I love all animals and believe that they deserve to live lives as enriched as we can provide them.

When you're on vacay, and your dogs seem to be enjoying themselves more than you are, that's when you realise you've discovered an exceptional dog sitter! Alice provided regular updates and fantastic photos. I highly recommend her services.
Alice looked after our two dogs overnight. Whilst we were away we got lots of photos of the dogs and updates on what they were up to. Alice was absolutely brilliant, the dogs loved her straight away, and we'll definitely be booking her again :)
Alice was exceptional. Came over to meet us all before the booking. Alice was friendly and engaging. She was confident in dealing with Pesto & Prim and sent lovely updates showing them all happy and enjoying themselves. I thoroughly recommend Alice & hope she’ll be back with us again.

I ask that clients provide me with their command words and also information on their favourite games, activities, and, if any, what behaviours they wish me to encourage. I treat every home with utmost respect and follow any instructions to the letter

Please tell me of any special needs your dog/cat has, any medications they are prescribed and whether you would like me to administer said medication, their command words and behaviors to encourage, or those behaviours you are trying to improve in them. I would also like to know if they are reactive and to what triggers. Finally, please let me know if you allow your pets treats, and if so, when and what sort. Thank you :)
A typical day
I believe in animal enrichment that meets the needs of each individual in question. I will give endless cuddles if that is what your pet loves most and is used to, or I give them the space they need if they are shy. I am willing to work on their training commands if you wish, in a manner that is in line with your own training. If your dog requires a lot of exercise and I am house-sitting, a standard walking fee will apply in addition to the house-sitting fee. I can take them on runs if they are used to that, or let their noses guide walks - it's all about your pet and what they like most. I will play their favourite games, or just sit with them if they are older and can no longer frolic like they used to.

Availability
I currently work part-time and therefore have ample time to devote to the care of animals. It is a job I love. My own dog, Rasmus, gets run very early in the morning, and later at night, so his care need not be impinged upon or his routine disrupted.
