Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs for most of my life ever since I raised my first puppy in 2009 as a gift from my parents. I now live on my own in an apartment along with two cats and my pooch, Pascal. I am also currently a university student, so beyond my classes, I have a lot of free time to devote to animals! Maintaining a schedule is important for taking care of dogs, such as scheduled eating times, walks, and playtimes. I find it useful to explore new places when on walks so that dogs can keep interacting with new stimuli while draining their energy. I believe in positive reinforcement, which yields the best results. Having a high-energy dog like Pascal, who is an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix, has prepared me both physically and mentally with the patience needed with taking care of animals. I have dealt with all sizes of dogs and a variety of breeds, therefore I know that all dogs are inherently intelligent, and if they are exposed to a structured, fun, and rewarding lifestyle, they can be great lifelong companions. I look forward to meeting your best friend!

Alice took care of my 2-year old high energy Doberman as if it were her own dog for almost two weeks, providing daily updates. I have a large-sized crate so you never need to bring your own! I also live in a 1000 sq. ft. 2 bedroom apartment, so there's plenty of space for everyone (and in case someone doesn't get along or needs to eat in a separate room). I also live by a few parks/fields, so walks are always an adventure.

It’s important to know a dog’s approach to strangers and how it deals with new situations. Even daycare and short visits may confuse or stress out your furry pal, but knowing their response ahead of time will allow me to approach them as needed to ensure they feel safe and don't need to be fearful.
A typical day
Although I say I will "mentally and physically stimulate your dog," what I really mean is they will have a lot of fun and won't even know they're learning! We'll play a bunch of games (with Pascal in tow), check out all the smells and squirrels running around the neighbourhood, and explore a field right across from my building.

I'm back in school a few hours a week, but your pet will never be alone, as my partner works from home! Otherwise, they really set my schedule, so whatever you need, I can do!
