For 20 years, I have been working with animals, from rescue to rehabilitation. I you've never met an animal I can't handle or train or love! I have been hired by veterinarians to provide triage care to sick animals whose owners can't afford the price of emergency animal hospitals. I have been involved in sled dog rescue, am noted for my work with abused animals, and was hailed by Harvard's newspaper The Crimson as the "Marines of animal rescue." As for pet sitting, my start traces back some 17 years ago when I ran a popular pet sitting service in the Cambridge/Boston area as a fundraiser to St. Meows, a federally recognized nonprofit nokill animal rescue organization I founded in 1999. ​Over time, I have amassed a cache of excellent references and endless experience. I owned a beautiful 4-bedroom Victorian in downtown Portsmouth, NH where my mission as a pet sitter was to offer a comfortable, homey alternative to the traditional dog boarding atmosphere. I only took a few dogs at a time to assure a stress free environment where love and undivided attention was key to a dog's happiness here while staying with me. In other words, I want them to feel like they are on vacation here and can't wait to come back! When I moved to New York City, I was exclusively a dog walker and I quickly became popular among "the dogs" there as well. I continue to focus my services on dog walking although I am happy to sit your dog(s) or (cat) or whatever you may have in your home. I also provide doggie daycare in a client's home as well. I more than can appreciate the demands that come with juggling a career and life.... I am a former reporter for The Boston Globe and Associated Press and was left to raise a child on my own. My love for my career and my love for pets was challenged when my dear friend died suddenly and the veterinarian where her cat shelter was housed threatened to euthanize all 58 cats housed in her shelter. I couldn't let that happen and stepped in and saved the entire shelter. When pet-loving staff members of the Boston-based giant Goodwin & Proctor, one of the largest law firms in the country, heard about me, they reached out to me, did all our 501c3 paperwork and even adopted some of our most hard to adopt cats!
