Pet care experience
I've been petsitting & dog walking in my neighborhood and for friends for 10 years. I often petsit for nearby neighbors, either boarding or doing daily walks & check-ins, and I would love to look after more dogs! I've always loved animals, and I have had many pets and a border collie named Rush since I was 12. I took the lead in training Rush, from attending doggy obedience classes and emphasizing potty-training, to learning tricks at home. We now have another pup named Milo, a super sweet 1.5 year old Doodle who loves to play and run around the yard, and who is very polite with other dogs. We did intensive home care for Rush before he passed from cancer after about 10 months, so I am well-versed in administering fluids, special diets, and oral / injectable medicines, as well as gentle handling & patience! I am also experienced with dogs with separation anxiety, high-energy dogs, and puppies. I have a passion for training puppies and adult dogs as well!

I have a fenced yard for your dog to lounge or trot about in, and your dog is safely welcome throughout our home. The yard also has a pool with a shallow lounge shelf if your dog enjoys swimming! I live in a wonderful, family-centered neighborhood with lots of dogs and sidewalks, and am in walking distance of a park with trails. I’m active throughout the day and your dog would have 30+ minute walks in the morning and evening, as well as play throughout the day and time outside in the fenced in yard. If your dog is highly active/sociable, there are fabulous dog parks and of course the dog beach nearby! Water is constantly available from a flowing fountain-style water dispenser. Feeding and treats are flexible according to your preferences. My mom and sister adore dogs, and will join me on walks and in pampering your dog with lots of love & attention!

Please bring your pup's favorite treats, toys, and leash (and a special dog bed if they prefer it) to help keep them happy! I appreciate clear communication about your pet's personality traits and general preferences, as well as your own preferences regarding their stay and information about their usual routine: feeding & walking times, energy levels, social tendencies, and any other important information.
A typical day
Any canine guests receive at least two 30 minute walks daily, with rigor appropriate to their age and energy level! This may be around our quiet, family-friendly neighborhood, or at the dog beach during cooler hours. We also love to take pups to the nearby dog park for more socialization. All dogs are welcome to play with a variety of toys around the house, and enjoy romping about in our fenced and tree-shaded yard, where they can bird and squirrel-watch, run around, and even swim in the pool, which has a shallow shelf to accommodate small dogs under supervision.
