⋅˚₊‧ Dependable 1-on-1 Care ‧₊˚⋅ ˚

Pet care experience

Hi pet parents ˙ᵕ˙ I’m a highly attentive animal lover and full-time NYC pet caretaker with 8 years of handling experience. In the past 3 years I’ve had the honor of working with over 150 families through Rover specializing in medium to giant sized herding and working breeds. I go above and beyond to curate detailed itineraries and tailored care for animals that require specialized attention and for pet parents looking for an elevated, stress-free experience. My expertise spans across all breeds (purebreds and mixed/crossed), sizes, and temperaments so you can rest assured knowing that all animals under my care are greatly and equally loved. Pitbull, Rottweiler, and black cat pet parents are especially welcome to inquire with me ♡ Within the last year I’ve had the most working experience with Australian Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Siberian Huskies in addition to rarer city-breeds like Dalmatians, Newfoundlands, and Mudis. ✦. ──────────────────────────────── .✦ I was first introduced to animal care when I was a babysitter at 16 and continued to work for families with pets until I retired from nannying at 22. Over the course of my final year of undergrad, I transitioned from being a student to a full-time animal caretaker offering boarding services in my home to the families of students, university faculty, and local residences of my college town. Over time my experience has led me to work with families with differently-abled animals, elderly pets that require administered medication, retired military dogs, pets with dietary restrictions, and exotic animals. By the time I graduated, I had expanded my services to also offer doggy-daycare and established myself as the town’s top-rated sitter. Given the nature of the big city I’ve since pivoted my services to offer all day in-home care and walks that are guaranteed to tire out your pup whether that be at the dog park or trekking across town. A standard service experience with me includes extensively detailed reports delving into your pets wellbeing with all pictures and videos you could ever want to boot. I make it a priority to be fully transparent of anything and everything that happens and to share even the smallest of details. After all, not only is it my pleasure to provide your furry friend with the best possible care available but it is also my responsibility to instill you with the peace of mind that you need to comfortably go about life while you’re away from them. That being said, your pets will never be left alone or unattended without your knowledge and nobody but me will be entering your home without your consent. Since I often work with reactive dogs that have anxiety and can resource guard I do not offer pack walks or schedule overlapping services unless I am walking a family unit. I do accept same-day inquires and am always available as an on-call caretaker ♡

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Alia to take care of our pup, Vienna! This was our first time leaving Vienna for an extended period with someone new, and Alia made us feel completely at ease. She was incredibly communicative and responsive, sending thoughtful and descriptive updates that helped us feel connected even from afar. It was clear Vienna was getting tons of love and attention! Alia also kept our home spotless and even went above and beyond by doing laundry and taking out the trash before we got back—such a thoughtful touch. We can tell Vienna made a new best friend, and we’re so excited to continue growing their bond through future walks and overnight sits. Highly highly recommend Alia to anyone looking for a loving, reliable sitter!

Alia is a fantastic dog sitter! She treated my pup like her own and kept me updated with lots of sweet messages and adorable photos. My little guy was happy, calm, and clearly in good hands. Super reliable, kind, and communicative — I will definitely book again😊

Alia is excellent!!! Highly recommend. She’s super responsive and took great care of my dog. She shared plenty of updates with me while she was dog sitting. I know my dog is in good hands with Alia. Couldn’t be happier with her work.

I take pride in my ability to quickly foster trust and build strong, lasting connections with pets who require extra love and attention thanks to their big personalities and even bigger needs. Because I specialize in larger breeds and often care for dogs with separation anxiety, meet-and-greets consisting of a home tour and a walk are non-negotiable before booking. This isn’t just for me to get to know your pet but it’s also a critical step in helping your pet feel safe and comfortable with me. By having you facilitate the home tour, while we talk about the details of their personality and care expectations, your fur baby will begin to associate me as a friend they can trust and who is welcome into their space – you’re essentially giving them permission to like me. The walk on the other hand gives me a chance to assess their walking habits, social etiquette, and see first-hand how they respond to external stimuli like other dogs, children, and bikes. Together, these steps ensure a smooth first hand off for your pet and help lay the foundations for a safe, stress-free experience for me, your pet, and most importantly, you! For house sitting services, because I do provide all-day constant care, you can expect that I will be taking care of your home as if it was mine. This means keeping things tidy, taking the trash out regularly, and cleaning after cooking. Out of respect for the trust that you've extended to me by welcoming me into your home, I operate under the baseline assumption that there is a no-guest policy unless explicitly discussed otherwise. With that said, in the spirit of reciprocating trust, all I ask in return is that if you do have an in-home security system/puppy cams that they be in plain sight and not pointed directly into the bedroom or bathroom(s).

Information Alia Y. would like to know about your pet

In your initial inquiry I ask that the following information be included if applicable: 1. Does your pet have a prominent health condition that would require medication administration or special care/attention? I.e. Are they elderly (over 10 years old)? Differently-abled? Do they have separation anxiety? Known allergies? 2. Does your pet have any behavioral issues towards other animals, humans, and/or anything on wheels (including stroller and dollies)? If yes, is it more of a general issue or is it targeted? Specifically do they have adversities towards men, children, or a particular breed? 3. Briefly, what are your care expectations? Are you looking to have me stay home all day with your pet? Please note that pets that require constant care are subjected to a top-up that is reflective of the level of care needed.

A typical day

I do my best to plan activities based on your pets temperament and personality. For more active dogs I am able to walk three times a day with a single walk being upwards of an hour and a half for as many as 7 miles a day. On the flip side, for less physically rigorous dogs I tend to limit our time outside to around a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. Outdoor activities that would fall under these circumstances would include taking your pet out with me while I run errands for you, grabbing a silly little drink for myself, visiting a dog park, playing in the snow, or enjoying some sit-down time on a patch of grass while we have a little picnic for just the two of us. These activities would only be considered after through communication with you to establish (1) what circumstances/environments you are comfortable with me bringing your dog along, (2) understanding the full picture of how your dog responds to external stimuli outdoors, and (3) confirming your dog's abilities to effectively respond to my attempts of recall. At the end of the day, I would want to be able to present to you at least a small handful of activities so you can rest assure that when you're not around your pet will have the opportunity to interact with the outside world in a safe and educational manner. If they're not the most outdoorsy kind of dog we can always default to the classic staying indoors; watching TV together, having one-on-one therapy sessions, cuddling up while I do some work, or excitedly pacing alongside me while making something to eat. Regardless of what kind of dog you have I always do my best to plan to make sure they feel the most comfortable and loved as they can be.
