Hey there! My name is Ali and I'm a caring, compassionate, and responsible pet owner and soon to be pet caregiver! I am currently a cat mom of one Norwegian forest cat and a lover of all animals except arachnids and insects. I have been a pet sitter and dog walker for friends, family, and acquaintances as an occasional side gig for over 4 years and have just discovered Rover! While working seasonal jobs, first in Arizona and then in Montana, I was in despair without a pet for almost a year because of the housing rules. I am now back in Northern Delaware, where I'm from, for the foreseeable future and was previously working as a part time as a nanny the last half of 2020. I have experience caring for puppies and elderly dogs (same with kittens/cats). Sometimes, while simultaneously caring for children, I would walk and feed their pets. Two of the dogs were rescues and one had some physical issues in which it had to wear diapers and take specific medications that I would administer. The most recent pet sitting job I had was this past summer in St. Louis. Me and my significant other dog sat for two high energy pure bred Australian Shepherd puppies for two weeks and had a wonderful time teaching them some tricks, training them on leash, and of course, lots of cuddle sessions! The services I offer are below. House sitting (overnights in your home): Feeding, potty breaks/walks, play time, tricks for treats (if allowed), and bed time/morning routine. I don't have professional experience grooming, but I do brush dogs if the owner requests it. Drop-in visits: cuddles, play time, checking litter box(es) (if applicable), and potty breaks Dog walking: 20-30 minutes (at least) of exercise on leash in your neighborhood. With the Aussies I cared for, I took them on 3 walks a day for at least 30 minutes and played fetch non stop in their backyard with an electric fence to try to get their energy out. I am passionate about caring for animals because they are unconditional lovers and I am a firm believer that they help create happier and more fulfilling lives for individuals, especially those who are sick and/or have not been able to have children of their own. I believe that pets make a home feel more homey and bring people together. I wish to give pets the love they need and deserve and want to further my understanding and appreciation of animals and treat the ones I care for as if they were my own.
