Large dog lover, rescue foster
Pet care experience
Have volunteered with breed-specific rescues (GSDs) as a dog walker, evaluator, and transporter. Dog sitting experience includes Australian shepherds, GSDs, and goldens, to name a few. Currently: foster for Paws Across Pittsburgh. I prefer to foster "only dogs," or dogs that need to be the only dog in the house. So to get my dog fix, I like to dog walk and dog sit for others! Experience with - senior dogs - large dogs - dog reactive pups - anxious and/or stubborn breeds - medical cases
Reviews
Can’t say enough positive things about Aleksandra! An absolute angel of a human, my dog adores her and so do I! Book her and you will be patting yourself on the back every day!
Alexsandra has been great with my anxious dog! She is easy to communicate with and is accommodating to my schedule and any needs my dog might have. I feel very comfortable trusting her with my pup.
Alexsandra proved to be an exemplary sitter. She demonstrated an abundance of patience and kindness with my large breed dog, who can be a bit of an "old lady" at times. Her communication with me was always timely as well as informative. I felt completely secure leaving my pet in her capable hands and would highly recommend her to everyone!
Addition to prior review after several more bookings: Alexsandra has been very flexible with me moving around times due to changed flight times, etc. without any issues (and I've had to do this to her more than once!). Also, during her last stay, I was out of town for an interview, and I came home to a bouquet of flowers in a vase as a congratulations/good luck sentiment. It was so touching and really underscores how lovely she is as a person!! So I underscore what I said earlier - she's amazing!

Love having the opportunity to enrich the day for pups around me. For some dogs, this is a walk with plenty of time to sniff. For others, maybe this is backyard play, some indoor training, fetch, tug, or snuffle mat puzzles. There's so many ways to engage with a dog, and I'm flexible — just let me know what your pup tends to like, and I'm happy to follow your lead!
Information Alexsandra M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pets have medical needs, reactivity (human or dog), and or resource guarding. ***None of these are deal breakers for me*** It is important that I know about these factors before spending time with them.
A typical day
Activities definitely depend on the dog (or dogs!) for me. Some dogs need a great walk or some long lead time, in which case Frick is a great option for a lot of pups. Some dogs just need a change of scenery and a laid back sniff walk, or to find a quieter, less-packed space. Personally, I tend to keep dogs away from more populated outdoor spaces (busy downtowns, restaurant blocks) until the dog has a chance to know me, and I am confident the dog is comfortable in those environments. For time in the home, I love getting a chance to see what a dog is curious about. Snuffle and puzzle mats can be a ton of fun if a dog is food motivated, and I taught my last foster how to use a button for an automatic feeder. For toys, definitely love getting to play with pups if they are tuggers, like to fetch, etc. Some dogs are also just interested in affection and companionship for a bit – I'm happy to sit with a pup and let them snuggle and get some love if that's what they're looking for. As I said – it depends on the dog! If you've read this far, I want to mention that for walks, I highly prefer repeat bookings. If you are booking 2+ walks/week, I offer discounts on my walk price. Just mention this note!
