I grew up around dogs and cats mostly, but I’ve also cared for a bearded dragon, fish, chickens and a pig. All the dogs I’ve loved have taught me a lot about caring for animals. My first pup taught me about the tremendous responsibility it is to bring one into your home. My boxer mix rescue grew confident and comfortable through her love of fetch. My last lab taught me a lot about how to handle a dog that doesn’t like other dogs. And while she never came around on other dogs, in the end she tolerated chickens, but her whole life she adored humans, and we miss her dearly. These days, I have a French bulldog named Butchie that has experienced all kinds of guests at our home. He’s very sweet, and loves to play. So if your dog is anything like mine, he or she will have a grand time with Butchie, and the rest of my family! I genuinely feel that humans are so very lucky to have dogs, so please be at ease that I will take good care of your pet. I have some experience administering meds. My boxer mix became quite ill at the end and caring for her was no easy task. It broke my heart to do it, but I can administer meds if needed.
