Pet care experience
I got my own dog when I was 8 years old. She was a 2 month old West Highland Terrier. She is now 15 years old and still living at my parents house, though I visit her every weekend. I have experience walking dogs, including those that are reactive to other dogs/vehicles/etc. I have experience bathing and grooming (cutting out matts, trimming nails, removing burrs or ticks). My dog Lulu has special dietary restrictions, so I am used to accomodating that and resisting any begging for human treats and I make sure all food or drinks they could get into are safely out of reach or put away. I also have cat sitted for my neighbors for several years, so I have experience with cat care including feeding, litterbox cleaning, play time, and brushing. I helped potty train and teach obedience to my family dog growing up, so I have experiencing with training especially with commands like sit, stay, and come.

I do not have any other pets in my home (Other than a butterfly). My apartment is cat and dog friendly, there is a small dog park area behind the building for play time and potty time, but there is also lots of greenspace down by the river which is less than a mile away. I can crate your dog whenever I need to go to class or run errands if needed. My apartment is 1 bedroom and 750 sqft, so it would be more difficult to accomodate any larger breeds, but small to medium dogs and cats should have no problem. I will feed, walk, and care for your pet according to whatever usual schedule you have, working around the hours I am at school or out of the home.

Please also inform me of your dogs usual temperment and behavior with strangers and other dogs so I have a good idea of what to expect and can let you know if they seem to be acting abnormally.
A typical day
I love to play with the pets I watch so if you give me your dog or cat's favorite toys I will make sure to have a good amount of play time with them every day! I also really enjoy walking around the parks that are near my home. My apartment is home to lots of dogs, so if your dog likes other dogs, they might just make a new friend!

Availability
I currently am in school and working part time from home. During the summer, I will have a few classes and will be working more hours, but again I work from home so potty breaks and play time should not be an issue to accomodate. In a case that I will not be able to attend to your pet for more than 4 hours, I can have my partner or my brother go to my apartment to check in and attend to their needs (They both also have pet experience).
