Pet care experience
I grew up with lots of animals on a hobby farm, and have many years experience caring for animals feathered, finned, scaled, hoofed, and pawed. Because of my love for animals, I volunteered at the Oregon Zoo when I was a teen, and got to work with exotic animals behind the scenes. More recently, I have fostered dogs for a local rescue. I especially love dogs, but when my long-time best friend and soul mate passed away, I decided not to get another dog right away. It's too soon, but I still enjoy the companionship of dogs, and I'm having soo much fun hosting dogs on Rover. Your babies can be my babies too, if only for a short while!
Reviews
Our Rosie enjoyed her time with Alexis. Alexis sent us update messages and photos. Alexis is an animal lover! We highly recommend.
Alexis sent me lots of pictures and comments so I knew what Happy was doing while I was gone.
I would call Alexis J - The Dog Whisperer. My toy poodle stayed with her for a few nights and was very anxious barking and howling to find me. But Alexis was successful in making him settle down and finally relax. I have every confidence in recommending her services. My dog was well cared for. She is very capable and kind. She keeps in touch and texts photos of your pet. ?
Our Yorkshire terroir, Ripley, loved Alexis. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our pup was in good hands! Thank you, Alexis.

Safety, trust & environment
As a former Yorkie Mom who's worst fear was losing my dog, I understand that safety and common sense are of the utmost importance. I have taken steps to ensure that no dog can escape. I have inside gates to prevent dogs from going out the front door, and a fenced back yard with locked gates and "dog bottom". I vow to keep your precious babies safe and secure. My home has central air conditioning. Your pups will stay comfortable in hot weather. I am certified in Dog First Aid and CPR. I took a live 8 hour class to obtain this certification. Note, I do not keep dogs in crates or kennels - they have free run of the house. If your dog is "crate trained" that is fine, you will supply their crate. I do not leave dogs in the back yard unattended. I do not take dogs to far off locations - I only walk them to the nearby park and around the immediate area. I prefer to conduct meet and greets in-between clients, so your dog will not be exposed to the stress of people or other dogs coming and going.

Information Alexis J. would like to know about your pet
Does your pup have any medical conditions or allergies? Separation anxiety or behavioral issues? Where does your dog normally sleep? Is your dog allowed on the bed / furniture?
A typical day
As there are no dogs or children residing in my home, and I take only one client at a time, your dog will receive my undivided love and attention. I strive to make your dog feel at home and enjoy his or her stay. I will interact with your dog - play time with balls and squeaky toys, walk in the park and neighborhood, cuddle on the couch (if you allow your dog on furniture) and supervised time in the fenced back yard. On weekdays while I'm working, your dog can lounge in the living room, look out the window from the window seat, or hang out with me in my home office where there are dog beds and plenty of toys for them to "work" on.
Services
Alexis can host
Availability
I work from home, so I am free to take breaks to care for your pups - play, sweet talk, give belly rubs, and supervise as they romp in the fenced back yard. I have lots of toys to entertain them, and I truly enjoy cuddling and playing with dogs.
