Pet care experience
I have two blue heeler mixes, they are the loves of my life. I have been a dog lover my entire life. As a child, my favorite books from the library were those that described different dog breeds. I have been doing vacation dog, cat, chicken, fish, and plant sitting for friends and friends of friends since I was a teenager. Ranging from 1 overnight to weeks at a time. With proper instructions, I am comfortable administering medication. I regularly watch an elderly dog with many special needs as well as a diabetic dog that I administer insulin to.

We have had Alexis take care of our dog, Tux, twice now. It is so good to know that he is happy and cared for. The pictures she sends have been great. She's even been working with him to not pull so much on walks!
Alexis is our number one go to gal for pet sitting. She has watched, walked and done in-home extended vacation care for us for close to ten years. Alexis is careful, conscientious, meticulous, smart, dependable, and above all she loves our animals and cares for them like they were her own. We consider her part of the family! You can absolutely count on Alexis to follow complicated feeding instructions, give medications, and pay special attention to the needs of older animals. She cared for our 16 year old senior who had many medical issues and needed a lot of help walking and getting up and down stairs, and took wonderful care of him. I highly, highly recommend Alexis and am happy to talk further with anyone considering working with her!
Alexis is one of the few people I trust to watch my dog. He's a sweet beast but needs lots of attention or he becomes anxious; Alexis puts in the effort to make sure he gets the attention he needs to feel safe. I cannot recommend her enough, she pretty much just wants to love ALL The dogs.

My dogs are my entire world, I know that is the case for many people and their dogs so their safety is very important to me. I have a fenced-in yard that I allow my dogs in unsupervised but guest dogs are always supervised. If your dog is an escape artist we can also wear a leash while in the yard for added security. I prefer to walk all dogs on a harness to reduce the risk of slipping out of collars.

My younger dog Cricket is happy to play with other dogs, he loves to wrestle but is not overly persistent if another dog isn't interested since his true love is playing fetch. My senior dog Loretta Lynn does not play, so we can only host dogs that are able to leave here alone. There is plenty of room for her to have her own space but a dog that is very persistent that it must play with her would not be a good match for us.
A typical day
My pups Cricket and Loretta Lynn insist on a long walk every morning before we do anything else. She is much too persistent and cute to resist. We love walking to Hermosa Park near our house. We have a fenced-in yard with lots of room to run and we take potty breaks in throughout the day. Loretta Lynn would never turn down a walk and would love to accompany a guest of more walks throughout the day. My yard is fully fenced with a sidewalk the length of the house perfect for doggie zoomies. We also have a large basement perfect for rainy days playing with a doggie fort with a ramp and tunnel to run through.

Availability
I am a freelance so my schedule does fluctuate. Some days I am home all day and other I am out for 8 hours at a time. We can discuss any specific needs your dog has to make sure my schedule is allowing for all the time your dog needs on the days they will be staying with me.
