I’ve groomed, fostered, cared for and rescued animals for as long as I can remember. I’m newly single, dog’less and missing my animals. We lost 3 during quarantine our two English Mastiffs Shilah & Deuce and Duke an Australian Cattle Dog. Then shortly after we lost our last girl, Cali a sweet old gal. Caligirl chihuahua/husky mix she passed at 17 years old. They all lived very long happy lives. We treated them like our children and they knew they were family. I miss them terribly. I look forward to having the opportunity to love on and look after your fur babies in your absence. I decided to take the summer off to be with my 7year old son Everett so I reckon I’m as available as they come….for butt scratches, walks and cuddles on the couch. I have a fenced yard, use a leash well and can work with your animals in this area if they’re not used to a leash. I’m willing to bath, groom, preferably not haircuts but I can if needed. I am willing Run/hike/swim go on adventure with your animals, or lounge around the house. Your pup your call, I’ll deliver.

Roxie always loves staying with Alexis!
One of my dogs requires medicene due to a severe heart condition. I was under the impression that Alexis was experienced in giving oral medicene howver that was not the case. Unfortunately, the medicene was not given as prescribed and my dog had been collapsing since her stay with Alexis. I found two full doses of medicene in the containers i had left for the weekend and when i asked Alexis ahe said all medicene was given with the exception of three small pills she found by my dogs bed. On the morning of the pick-up, i had sent a message to see if I could pick up my dogs early but did not receive a response which was fine. I get it. When i went to pick them up at the designated time, i could not get in touch with Alexis for 40 min. I called numerous times. I knocked on the door extensively. No response. I finally had to contact neighbors to help get in touch with her.
Alexis and her son cared for our senior dog during the weekend and they seemed to love her. There were a few miscommunications about pickup and dropoff times, and she had already started her next Rover when we were expecting there to be no other dogs present during the stay (our dog is not dog friendly). She mentioned that she left our dog off leash going between houses outside, which concerned us since her house is near a busy road. There were other instances in what she had said changed once the visit started, such as kids being in and out of the house, that while understandable, made us a bit uncomfortable. We are self admitted overprotective dog parents but leaving our dog with Alexis gave us unnecessary stress during our vacation that we are hoping will not be the case for other dogs staying in the future from our feedback. There was no doubt our dog was loved and well exercised during her stay with them.
Alexis was amazing with my dog! She followed the care instructions for her and made sure my pup had a great day!

I have a fenced yard. It’s nicely sized and well maintained. I live to hike and go on long walks or short runs. My knees aren’t what they used to be but I do love to get a run in (only driven by the energy level or habits of the pup I’ve got at the time). Every dog is different, by design my boarding style is to learn what each one’s likes and dislikes are and then I do that whatever it is. Depending on the preferences I’m open to dog parks, hikes, long or short walks, I have a kiddie pool for the water pups & hose water play is always a fun option. I never take them anywhere that theyre at risk. I take heed when owners give specific details around other animals and never put any dog in any situation that could harm them or anyone else.

A typical day
I used to do a ton of obedience training so I will work on things with dogs if the owners like. I have a great yard for fetch and lots of areas with great lounge spots for sunbathing, learning new tricks and techniques to keep them stimulated.

Availability
The weekly routines change based on the amount of dogs I am working with. My time is spent tailored around their needs. For instance if I’ve got an older pup with physical limitations we might just work with my plants in the back yard, do laundry and spend the time hanging up clothes to dry on the line outside. Or run errands if they like to go “bye-bye”. Nearly everyone gets a short walk to Nana’s and THEY all quickly learn “wanna go to Nanas” and every single dog I’ve boarded gets thrilled by the words and sometimes they go to the door on their own and wait, I assume they’re communicating their interest in heading out for a stroll to nanas. I take care of her household chores as well. I moved to this duplex/complex specifically to be able to care for her during this stage of her life. Seems the dogs sense her invalidity and they offer tail wags and kisses in exchange for her butt scratches and easy conversation. She too is a huge animal lover and, I’m certain they can sense it.
