Hello! My name is Alexia and I am an avid animal person and grad student. I have a long history of caring for animals, which started when I began volunteering at an animal shelter when I was 8 years old. In addition to caring for my own pets over the years (including my family dogs), I have also fostered for a small animal rescue, worked in animal care at the Oakland Zoo, and worked as a junior research associate at the Oregon Zoo. All of these opportunities have given me lots of experience in basic animal care as well as more complicated tasks such as behavioral training and administration of medications. At the Oakland Zoo, in particular, I was given the sole responsibility of ensuring that the animals in my care received specific diets and the correct doses of daily medications. I love taking care of both dogs and cats, and animals tend to warm up to me pretty quickly.
