Hey there! I am Alexcia, and animals have always been my lifelong companions. From growing up surrounded by both big and small dogs like Pitbulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and Rough Collies to spending my formative years as a zookeeper, tending to lions, bears, moose, and an array of fascinating creatures, my bond with animals runs deep. I have cared for a menagerie that includes hedgehogs, snakes of all varieties, tortoises, sloths, and many more furry, scaly, and feathered friends. Animals seem to have an affinity for me, and I've been the go-to sitter among friends for their beloved cats and dogs, cherishing every moment of their company. While my career as a designer keeps my creative side fulfilled, my heart yearns for the constant presence of animals. My volunteering experience at the ASPCA in Brooklyn involved rehabilitating abandoned or high-energy cats and dogs, providing them with the care and love they needed to thrive. Now, I'm ready to extend that love and care to your furry family member! Located in a ground floor apartment with a fenced backyard near the Alameda dog park, I offer a safe and welcoming space where your pet can feel right at home. While watching your pets, I'm all about tailoring the fun to their personalities! With your cats, I'd create a mini adventure zone using their toys, setting up an obstacle course or a treasure hunt to stimulate their curiosity. For the dogs, it's all about the great outdoors! On our hiking days, we'd explore trails, sniff out new scents, and take in the sights while getting that heart rate up. At the beach or near water, I'd let the dogs paddle in the shallows (if you allow), play fetch, and bask in the sun while ensuring they're safe and having a blast. And the dog park? That's the ultimate social outing! I'll observe their interactions, encourage playfulness, and exercise!
