Pet care experience
I have always had a passion for caring for animals. I grew up on a farm with cats, dogs, chickens, horses and goats. I went on to pursue my Bachelor's degree from UC Davis in Animal Science. Over the past three years I have worked as an Animal Keeper for a wide variety of exotic animals. I am currently working at Gilroy Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Assistant and Operation Freedom Paws as a Kennel Technician. I am a very patient, kind person who loves animals! I have worked as an occasional pet and house sitter for a few families over the past 6 years and would love to care for your pets as well! I have experience with not just dogs and cats, but also reptiles, birds, small mammals and more! For as long as I can remember, I have always had dogs as a part of my life and I cannot imagine my life without them. I currently have just one dog, Buttercup (a pit mix), who lives with me, my fiance and our cat. She was a rescue and a surprise addition to the family, she has been with us about a year and we have loved every minute of it. We love having dogs as part of our life, and would love to have our own pet sitting business one day, but as a young couple we are just not quite there yet. Becoming a dog sitter through Rover is a great next step for me and I believe it will give me amazing and unforgettable moments with some amazing animals!

I cannot think of any other person I would trust with my pets more than Alex. She has been fantastic about keeping up with the ever-changing medication and meal requirements for my severely allergic dog and has won the affection of my cat who thinks she is the princess of the house. Alex's background in animal behavior and work experience in the zoo/sanctuary field have been invaluable, and she has been a tremendous resource in training my extremely suborn dog. I would highly recommend Alex for any pet sitting position.

I would love to know more about your dog! The basic details, such as age, breed and any health issues are a good place to start. But I would also love to know what your dog's favorite activities are, what are their favorite toys and treats, where does your dog like to be scratched, do they get along with other dogs and so much more!
A typical day
When your pets stay with me you can expect that I will follow any and all instructions for care and activity while you are away. I understand that all animals are different and they all have their own sets of likes and dislikes. If your dog is up for it I would love to take your dog on walks around your neighborhood, take them to the park or beach and maybe even your local dog park. While your gone we will do fun activities like play fetch, catch frisbees, play tug of war and maybe play in the water if the weather is warm. Your pets can also expect tons of snuggles while you are away.
