I’m Alexandria and I adore dogs! Their loyalty, unbending love, and forever companionship are what make them the best animals out there! They just have a magic about them that make my heart gush and overflow. My late and most special canine, Ellie the Great Dane, was single handedly the deepest relationship I've ever had with another being. She passed at only two, but there was so much life in those years. She taught me so much and thanks to her, I now know that dogs truly do hold the most sacred of mirrors for their human counterparts. I have had dogs nearly my entire life and though I don’t have one of my own right now, I am an Auntie to many all over the world. I have the freedom to travel and dish out puppy love to my friends, family, and clients’ canines. Personally, I've owned a Great Dane, several Labradors and a couple of Jack Russell Terriers. I’ve also cared and looked after a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities of dogs. I've also dealt with 'special' cases, either of my own or of friends, where the pooch is a bit 'dog-aggressive' or 'child-aggressive' and know how to command a dog in more stressful moments. I have been a house-sitter numerous times and have had gigs over the years as a dog-walker, too! In addition to my experience with dogs, I am highly skilled in the care of our feline friends. I’ve always had cats growing up and you can usually find me curled up on the floor with a kitty, snuggling away! I also have experience working on an farm, so I've cared for horses, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens and turkeys! I would be happy to care for any of these animals on Rover. I understand how hard it is to be away from your fur baby so prompt responses and clear communication are to expected from me. Nothing is better than knowing you can count on a caregiver to be there when you need a little extra help. I also love to send images and updates of you pooch periodically so that you can continually see that they are in good hands. For the pup, I'll love them like my own, of course! Giving them love, ample time outdoors, and offering a consistent routine they can rely on are tenants of my care. When I’m not pet sitting, I love staying active. Some of my favorite activities are running on the beach, doing yoga, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking! With the right pooch, I believe I could do many of these activities with them. Here in south Florida, there are many dogs who are happily accustomed to the ocean, so I think I could definitely find a good companion for watersports! I’m also happy to run with your dog, because I run on the beach at least once a day and I participate in some sort of aquatic activity a couple times a week.
