Experienced Doggy Sitter!

Pet care experience

My name is Lexie and I’ve been working with dogs the last 5.5 years at a local boarding facility in my area caring for groups of pups of all shapes and sizes! I have loved and had dogs since childhood and today, my passion and love for dogs has never stoped growing! Working with dogs is a passion of mine and I look forward to spending time getting to know your furry family members! I have experience in feeding (both kibble and raw), administering medication (including injections), walking, exercise including active engaging play, large group play, daycare and overnight care, and making sure everyone is getting plenty of snuggles and love! My pack consists of two wiggle-butt Australian Shepherds, Penny (1yr) and Finn (3.5 yrs) that I adore to the ends of the earth. We dabble in agility here and there, love the beach and to go hiking, And work on basic obedience and trick training with on a regular basis. I strive to create an active/ stimulating fun environment for your dogs as I would with mine. The say a tired dog is a happy dog! -As of now I will be offering walking services for dogs of any size and due to my living situation (apartment), I will be offering overnight boarding services but must be outside my home. -Please confirm with me the specific times you need check-ins or walks. My schedule does change quite frequently with my other job but remains flexible enough that I can almost guarantee all walk and check-in times that you need. don't hesitate to ask, I am always trying to be as flexible as possible with my schedule so your furry family members get the best possible care.

Lexie is awesome! She has watched our two pups on multiple occasions and each time I’ve been extremely impressed. She is professional, quick to respond and very knowledgeable. We always come home to a clean house and happy relaxed dogs. She even offered to water our plants and garden while we were away! I would highly recommend Lexie to anyone.

Alexandria was amazing!!!! When we came home we could tell our pets were so loved as well as our home. She went above and beyond! We got daily pictures of our sweet fur babies with fun updates. Our home was also cleaner than we left it. With her knowledge and experience we were able to enjoy our trip even more! Thank you!!!

We felt so lucky to find Lexie to watch our furry family members! Our 2 cats and 2 dogs (including a young puppy) are a handful but I felt very comfortable leaving for a night knowing they were in good hands. I was initially worried about leaving such a young puppy but Lexie is incredibly experienced and both dogs warmed up to her immediately. Our house was perfectly clean when we returned and all our little buddies were happy and well cared for.

I had a good feeling about Lexie right away at our meet-and-greet. She house- sat for us for 4 nights. While away she sent us daily updates with pictures, which was very nice to see. They seemed to have a good time. She gave our dog ample time to get to know her. He's older and grumpy at times. Lexie took good care of the dog and house, and also watered our outdoor plants. We were very happy that she stayed with Bubba, and will ask her again and hope she'll be available.

Information Alexandria K. would like to know about your pet

During overnight stays, my goal is to keep your dog as happy and healthy as possible while their beloved owner is away. When there are sudden changes in the environment such as their owner leaving suddenly for a few days, your dog may feel nervous or anxious. To help your dog adjust easily, I would like to know anything that would help make that change as comfortable and smooth as possible. Do they have any activities they love, high value treats they love, what is your daily routine like with your dog so I can be sure to keep that routine as close to normal as possible while they are staying with a new person they aren’t used to. I want to make sure you have a happy, relaxed dog during their stay with me. Also, I will be asking you questions like, Do they have any food or environmental allergies? Do they have any reactivity to strange people or dogs? are they comfortable walking on a leash, harness, head halti, ect. Do they prefer to sleep on the bed or in a crate?... so that I know how to properly approach any potential behavioral issues, say, on a leash or with strangers, or just make sure they are sleeping soundly at night. to these are just a few things I will want to know so I can make sure your pup is getting the best care possible during their stay with me. I do not have any breed preferences. I have worked with many breeds with many energy levels and am very familiar with dog behavior and body language. I’ve grown up with varied breeds, from shitzus to Great Pyrenees. I currently have Australian Shepherds and will say that herding breeds have my heart. But I can never say no to some good pupper Snuggles!

A typical day

Around my area there are many parks, dog parks, trails, and beaches within just a few miles of where I live near Tacoma Community College, so there are plenty of places to explore! Some of my favorite spots to go walking are chambers bay, the Point Ruston water front, Point Defiance Park, and downtown Gig Harbor but the options are endless! All activities, of course, will be approved by you and will be tailored to your dogs specific needs. If your high energy German Shepherd needs a ball session at the beach, I can do that! If your pug needs a day rolling in the grass at the park accompanied by some belly scratches, it will be done!
