Pet care experience
From 2017 to 2019 I did in-home dog and drop by cat sitting through word of mouth. Since 2019 I have been using Rover. I have sat various retreivers, hounds, labs, and husky-mixes. I have a soft spot for hounds. In home visits include daily walks and potty breaks, as well as lots of head scratches, treats, tug of war, and tummy rubs. I have a strict policy of not taking dogs off leash, they may listen to their owner off leash but its uncertain if they will listen to me. In addition to working with dogs I've also checked in on cats as per owner instructions. This includes refilling water and food, cleaning the litter box, as well as some treats and some attention. Sometimes I complete other tasks such as watering plants. I'm comfortable working with both cats and dogs. I am an avid hiker and I would love to take your dog out on a trail somewhere! If that doesn't suit your facy around the block is just fine, too.

Alexandria is awesome! She watched our rambunctious hound for a week. She sent us photos daily and was super communicative. When our dog was attached by another dog on the trail she let us know immediately and was totally on top of everything. Highly recommend her.

If your dog is high energy and needs longer walks/hikes every day it is preferable to know ahead of time. I am happy to care for them but knowing expectations instead of being surprised is essential. I will charge extra for lack of communication on this topic.
A typical day
I usually walk dogs as per owner instructions but I have taken dogs on the PCMR trails and the Runamuck dog park. If a dog is higher energy I will make sure there's some extra activities like tug of war or toy play to get their energy out.

Availability
I currently have Thursday-Saturday off so those days I'm available for hikes and longer walks. Sunday-Wednesday is usually shorter walks and typically no hiking. Cats are easy to fit in either end of the week.
