Pet care experience
I grew up with two dogs (a pug and an American eskimo) and very much enjoyed spending time with them. The pug lost his ability to walk in his older age, and I provided a lot of care to him. It was challenging at times, but offered a good experience. I currently live in a house with a dog who I very much enjoy playing with, and she and I get along very well. I have always gotten along well with dogs and fortunately have never experienced any problems when caring for a dog. They are caring and smart creatures and need a lot of love and attention, and I would very much like to be a surrogate caregiver during busy work hours or vacations.

Alex was so great with Simba! He's never been so calm upon my return. She stayed at my place and was clean and tidy. Very kind when we met and I trusted she could give Simba his meds and some special attention he can require. It was nice not having to worry on my trip!
Alex was amazing. She watched our dog for an entire week (not to mention one of th coldest weeks in Chicago). She was super sweet, flexible and great with coop - would send pictures all of the time. The house was left in pristine condition. We will definitely being using her again!!!
Alex has always loved animals since she has been a little girl. You can see how a dog or other animals touch her heart when she is with them. We had two dogs in our family and she always took care of them and they responded to her in kind. When she was in college, we went away for a week and she took care of the dogs during a very cold, high snow period and got up very early to meet their needs in every way. In high school she interned at a Vet's office and received good feedback for her skills. I would highly recommend Alex as a dog sitter even if I weren't her mother. As her mother, I've seen her in every way interacting and taking care of dogs and appreciate her caring, loving way with them.
Alex is a true dog lover and person I would trust my human child with. You can't go wrong with an aspiring plant biologist, but besides her admirable career aspirations, she will love your pet like her own! It's likely your dog will end up missing Alex when you're back, because I haven't seen someone that likes to snuggle dogs more than her.
