Pet care experience
CA native living in Washington D.C. who loves fur babies! I grew up with an Australian Ridgeback named Akuah as well as the other dogs & animals on our family's farm. I’ve worked with so many different dog breeds which has taught me the fundamental differences between each of them. It allows me to assess each sitting & know the basic procedures before I’m booked. I’m experienced with administering medication (i.e injections, oral, etc.) & I’m especially good with elderly dogs. Few things are better than falling asleep with a pup at the end of the bed; it’s impossible not to wake up smiling! I'm punctual, honest, kind, communicative, patient, responsible, loving, in great shape, and highly professional. My commitment: to love all dogs just as unconditionally as they do us. I apply this mindset to the well-being of anyone's pets. Thanks for choosing me to hang out with your four-legged angels!
Reviews
Alexandra was fantastic and easy to work with, even on short notice! We will definitely be re-booking her.
Alex is fantastic! The care she provided our elderly dog was amazing. She provided our anxious little guy with a super calm energy and was very understanding of all his “old pup quirks.” She is hands down the best dog sitter we have ever had and took wonderful care of our home as well. We will be booking again…and again…
Alex is the best dog sitter on this app. Period. She is so sweet and trustworthy!! Very personable as well! My husband and I are very happy with our choice picking Alex to watch our pup for the day! Will definitely be booking in the future!
Alex spent the weekend at our house taking care of our senior dog, Cookie. She sent tons of pictures and updates, and is always friendly, responsive and wonderful. She takes such good care of our girl! Happy happy happy to have Alex in our home any time.

Safety, trust & environment
Being that I have a cat who hasn’t been socialized with any dogs yet, I choose not to board pets in my own home, for both my cat’s and the pets’ safety. In clients’ homes however, I am a hyper vigilant caretaker who is most concerned with the safety and happiness of my furry customers! Whether it’s walking, drop-in visits, or overnight sittings, I take all aspects of both the environmental and emotional needs of the pets I’m caring for very seriously. I believe true caretaking is all-encompassing and requires adaptability and going above and beyond to not only ensure their happiness, but to provide them the very same level of protection and love that they would be receiving if their parents were there. If the pets are happy, safe, and having tons of fun, then I’ve definitely done my job properly! I also have two hard rules for myself as a sitter: 1. I never double book overnight stays, & 2. I never book drop-ins or walks with less than an hour in between each one. This allows me to make sure I get everywhere I need to be on any given day, on time.
Information Alexandra M. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know the following things: any illnesses or medical characteristics I need to be aware of, any medication that needs to be administered (and how/when/for how long of a period of time), any physical limitations, any allergies, any specifics about situations or things that scare your pet or make them nervous/anxious, their favorite toys & tv shows, any recipes for their meals (if you usually cook them food), any supplements they take, anything I need to know about their interactions with other dogs on walks, their age & energy level, & any other things you think would be important for me to know. Thank you!
A typical day
It’s really important for me as a pet caregiver to provide a fun & healthy experience overall. I try to cover as much mileage as I can (unless the client specified that their dog has different needs i.e. is older or has differently abled characteristics) with walks so they can get their energy out & come home relaxed. I also am a runner & in really great shape, so whether we’re playing in the house or outside, I can always keep up. Toys, treats, dancing & watching their favorite tv shows (most of them LOVE the bird channel on YouTube) are just a few things on my list of super fun activities! I’m also really adaptable & understand that some dogs may not be as high energy, & can totally find restful ways to make sure any pet can have a wonderful time being cared for by me! I’m consistent with the bedtime set by my pet parents and have no problem getting up early in the morning if that’s part of the pups’ schedule.

Availability
I’m a full-time pet walker and sitter with open availability! I left my job in hospitality after 11 years & was searching for something that could both make me happy and allow me to have a steady, comfortable income without stress. Voila! I found Rover and as they say, the rest is history. Taking care of the sweetest fur babies brings me so much joy & reminds me of the simplicity in the kindness, love, & trust that these sweet fuzzballs show us daily. It’s as much a joy to care for these pets as it is for me to have peaceful moments of gratitude for their company & well-being. My ability to do so is majorly supported by my flexible schedule.
