Lots of love & available weekends!
Pet care experience
Hi Dog Owners! My name is Alex, I'm 26 years old and I'm currently dog sitting for families in and around the Winooski, VT area! I used Rover a few years ago to connect with owners and their pups, and recently I've found time to dog walk/sit again which is exciting! I'm comfortable with all breeds and have mostly worked with medium-large sized dogs in the past but I haven't met a dog through Rover that I haven't gotten along wonderfully with. I grew up around Labs and German Shepards so I definitely enjoy my time with large dogs.
Reviews
Alexandra was wonderful with our dog Hemlock. She was able to accommodate some of our special requests, was right on schedule with everything, and kept us well updated on how things were going! Hemlock had so much fun!!
Alexandra took such great care of our dog Rosco when we decided to go out of town for a last minute getaway. She was available on short notice and Rosco stayed the weekend at her place. She gave us updates and photos and it was clear that Rosco had a great time and got a lot of exercise, even hiking a 5 mile hike to a beautiful pond. I will definitely reach out to Alexandra again when we need a dog sitter.
Alexandra graciously agreed to help us out with our pup while we were in town attending a family wedding. Our pup recently had knee surgery, and Alexandra went out of her way to accommodate Nala's needs to ensure that she was safe. We could tell that Nala had a great time because she didn't want to leave Alexandra! That's truly the sign of a dedicated and caring sitter.
Super flexible and quick to respond. Offered to pick up and drop off, which was a huge help! Sent updates along with pictures, and made my dog feel at home. She was very patient with my anxious dog, spent extra time to make sure she ate, and gave Luna plenty of exercise. I would recommend Alexandra in a heartbeat!

Previously I have hosted other dogs in my home, but I will mainly be accepting clients who can have me stay at their homes, or who want frequent check-in's and walks/outings while they're out of town. The dog who lives in my home, Checkers, is great - but I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving them home alone together just to be safe.

Aggression level, if there has been an abusive history particularly that has led to a sensitivity towards men, as my partner is often with me, any medical problems and information on giving out medicine, behavioral problems, particularly what can trigger anxiety for your dog
A typical day
Days together will of course include walks and/or hikes depending on the level of exercise your dog needs. If your dog enjoys the dog park we can always go there too for some off leash fun. The Casavant Trail in Winooski is a great loop to walk with pups that's nearby and rarely crowded. If your dog is a people-pup, we can go for a walk by the Waterfront or Oakledge Park. I spend a lot of time in the Waterbury/Richmond areas too, and am always looking for new trails. I also love a good night time couch/cuddle/nap session!

Availability
My work schedule is very flexible as I'm choosing my own hours, and right now home around 2:00 most weekdays. I can be available for morning or afternoon walks, or over night stays at your house as long as I can go to work for a few hours during the day - we can discuss what's needed specifically for your dog and I can adjust my schedule as needed. I'm available most weekends as well. I live in a home with one small dog, Checkers, and although he is kind to other dogs, I would only feel comfortable hosting other dogs at my home if I'm around all day (not leaving them alone together), or Checkers is out of town.
