Hi there! I have been sitting for other people’s pets for over 5 years and I’ve cared for my family’s fur babies since I was 10 (so 20 years now!). I have a flexible work schedule, I love being active and I have a soft spot for any and every kind of animal. We’ve had young sitters in the past who didn’t take the job seriously and left the house a mess. I am 30 years old, responsible and trustworthy. I do this because I LOVE IT and I am very good at it. I have experience with: Elderly dogs My dog Mick was 18 when he passed. He required medication and a lot of extra care near the end. I have also sat for two other dogs who were at the point of needing ‘hospice level’ care. I know and possess the compassion required for aging animals. Puppies I have also cared for several puppies and know the extra energy and patience they require. I love their energy, but I also know that they are often in training and will follow any protocols given by owners. I am active and happy to be there, so if anyone can keep up with your pup, it's me! Dogs with special needs Most of the dogs I care for need some type of special attention. I used to regularly care for a blind/deaf dog. She has two brother dogs, one who is highly reactive, and the other was an elder dog. All are on medications and have a strict schedule. High anxiety German Shepherds, Shih Tsus with cancer, a rat with surgical staples (not a dog I know ha). The point is, I have the experience and compassion it takes to care for animals with special needs. I know how to follow instructions and ask questions when something isn’t clear. Cats There have been a lot of cats over the years. Kittens with sharp claws and little body awareness, a very cranky cat who had to be on sedatives every time I stayed at the house, and an old man who needed medicated cream rubbed into his ear twice a day. Rodents (fish/frogs) I have a client with a rotating mini zoo. I have cared for her 13 guinea pigs, 14 rats, 3 hamsters, several frogs, a cat, a praying mantis and too many fish to count. I don’t scare easily and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty (cleaning cages out, playing with the rats, etc). I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
