Lovable pack leader
Pet care experience
Hello! After moving to Colorado ten years ago, my work as a Mental Health Therapist at Children’s Hospital, and year long adventure traveling abroad, have reinforced my love of building new connections with clients in the spirit of curiosity, enthusiasm, and compassion. It is this thoughtful approach that I hope to bring to your home and pup family. My personal connection with dogs began while growing up caring for our family German Short and Wirehaired Pointers in the wooded heart of south-central Wisconsin. Loving and living with Nobler, Oreo, Sherpa, and Shatz, I experienced firsthand the value and importance that dogs can play in our lives as well as overall happiness. Since then, while housesitting for various friends and Rover clients, I have cared for a variety of dogs ranging in age, health needs, and energy levels and am PetCPR+ certified. My general approach though with all pups includes: - Use reinforcement whenever possible, rather than punishment. - Maintain a firm + calm pack leader approach. - Combine work + play at every visit. While your pups are my number one priority, they are not the only ones being taken care of while you’re away! In addition to knowing your home is safer with someone present in your absence, you can also expect: - Maintenance of a clean and organized space - Respect of your privacy and any house rules - Completion of light housework as needed AND at the end of each stay (e.g., put out trash, collect mail, clean kitchen and used areas, light sweeping and/or mopping). I look forward to meeting, walking and loving your dog(s)!
Reviews
Alexandra was great with Obi. She does extra that she doesn't have to do; she walked him and helped with training. She is also very friendly and easy to like!
Accommodating, and Bella loved her walk!!!
Alexandra was very responsive, responsible and trustworthy! She did an wonderful job taking care of our house and our pup. I felt confident leaving and knowing that everything would be in very capable hands.
Alexandra was the absolute best. She watched our house + our three dogs for a few days this past weekend and we have nothing but great feedback for her. She was thorough on her initial interview with us and asked thoughtful questions. She was incredibly attentive to our dog's various needs - they are all three in different stages of life and have different temperaments - and she communicated with us about all of the goings on. We have a boxer puppy who can definitely be a handful and Alexandra gave her structure and love. She administered medication for our oldest dog and took the dogs outside for some playtime. Alexandra is very trustworthy and kind. We're so thankful for her!

Information Alexandra H. would like to know about your pet
In order to personalize your dog sitting experience, I would appreciate knowing: - What is the breed + energy level of your dog? - Are there any special commands, rules or behaviors I should be aware of? - Do you have special medications or treats that I should/may give to your dog? - What (if any) feedback would you like me to monitor and give back to you after my visit?
A typical day
I would love to take your pup(s) on walks or hikes (if available) around your neighborhood! I am also PetCPR+ certified.
