Pet care experience

"At- Home" pet sitting and dog walking service offered from Altamonte to Oviedo. I have been working with animals as a volunteer for wildlife rehabilitation for over twelve years, I have been a pet and house sitter for three years and I am extremely reliable and well reputed. You can rest assure your animals will be well fed, loved and cuddled while you enjoy your vacation. I offer in house pet sitting, where I stay at your house for the duration of your vacation or dog walking where I will visit one to three times a day (upon your request) to walk, play with and feed your pets, as well as take in the mail, change the lights and water the plants. "At- Home" pet sitting is the more convenient way to keep your pets comfortable and have your house watched over while you are gone.

We have asked for help from Alex on two occasions for our Jack Russell named Spot. Each time we left home we felt assured that Spot would be in good hands. The one occasion we were gone more than a few days, Alex would text me and let me know that Spot was run, fed and happy. We would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a responsible, animal loving sitter.

Alex is very responsible, caring and dependable. She has been taking care of our Great Dane and Mini Schnauzer for 3 years, we trust her completely in our home. Nice piece of mind knowing our babies are loved and well taken care of!

Why I love dog sitting I have been a nature baby and animal lover since I was a very young child. When I was eleven years old I began working with wildlife rehabilitators and have continued rescuing, raising and releasing wildlife to this day. (I am currently an active volunteer at back to Nature Wildlife Refuge) Two years ago I had an emergency phone call come in about an abused pit bull. When she arrived to my house it was apparent that I had to heal her myself, any shelter would have had her put down immediately or veterinarian bills would have been in the thousands due to the terrible condition she was in. I named my new little patient Zazu and she spent the following six months in recovery. By the time she was ready to be re-homed, There was no question as to who would be the best fit parent. Zazu found her forever home with my family and I, and we have been inseparable ever since. During that time I was the nanny for families in my community for eight years and only had one family that I would pet sit for. I made the decision to notify my clients that instead of children, I would be interested in watching their animals for them any time they left town. The response was great, so in January of 2014 I began my own business, Walk Sit Stay by Alex LLC. Working with so many dogs these past few years has led me to live the happiest and healthiest life I could dream of. I know I have found the beginning to the path of a life long career.

Information Alexandra D. would like to know about your pet

Other than the dog's basic information, all I really like to know is what the dog loves and what he/she dislikes to ensure the happiness and safety of your pet at the same time. I have no breed preferences! I can promise you, If there are paws and a snout, I am already in love! I do, however, have a soft spot for breeds that are considered "dangerous". As I stated before, I have a pit bull and she is the light of my life. I do not believe in stereotypes and I welcome all dogs, big or small.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog This truly depends on what my daily schedule looks like at the time. If I have other dog walks to attend to I may be gone 2-4 hours. I try not to leave a house I am staying in for more than 6 hours at a time. If I am hired for dog walks instead of a nightly stay the walks will not be any longer than 12 hours apart. (i.e If I show up 8pm one night, I will be there no later than 8am the next morning) Extra house-sitting services Yes. During the Meet and Greet I like to get a feel for your daily schedule to make the transition of you leaving and getting back in town a seamless one. I am willing to water plants, bring in mail and newspaper, take out the trash, flip different lights on and off, etc.

I have been working with wildlife since I began volunteering for different shelters over twelve years ago. This has solidified my love and understanding of nature and all of God's creatures. It has also taught me how to handle high stress situations involving animals and a prompt response to any dangerous situations that may occur. Currently an active volunteer for Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge. Currently an active dog walker for Cuddles of College Park. Owner of Walk Sit Stay by Alex LLC. I have been a nanny for over eight years in my community and have been dog and house sitting for over three years. I am not only experienced, but extremely trustworthy and very comfortable and respectful in other people's homes.
