Pet care experience
I have always been very enthusiastic about dog sitting or dog walking for other people as I've not had the opportunity to have my own (sister has allergies)! I've often walked my grandmother's dogs, I've worked at a pet accessory store in Canada where I'd greet dogs and have owned a Cockatiel (small parrot) for three years now. I have been active on Rover for over a year and have loved caring for my client's pets and adapting to each client's requests. I am cautious and happy to follow precise "protocols" or preferences for my services. I would adapt my care to your dog depending on if they need to be very active (playing and running) or shy, calm, older etc. I speak English, French and some Italian & Portuguese. Happy to take care of cats and birds too!

Alexandra is a natural with animals, very conscientious and lovely to work with. She took care of our family dog (my mother's dog) regularly including by dog sitting and walking him. They always had a wonderful time. The dog got plenty of exercise and Alex was careful to make sure he was protected from the cold, clean when he entered the house and very well looked after. We never had to worry. It was a great relief when my mother had to be away or needed extra help walking him. We know that Alex also took care of our neighbors puppy (Labrador) for several weeks a couple of years ago. They were delighted to be able to entrust their puppy to her -and especially grateful that she was watchful for tics. We could not recommend Alexandra more and wish her the best of luck !
Alexandra is a trust worthy and reliable person. She has been walking and babysitting dogs for years now and has a special touch with them. Her love for animals is always mutual because of her positive attitude ! 10/10 recommend her!!!!

A typical day
Depending on the area and the needs of the pet, I like to ask my client what their pet's usual routine is, and do what I can to make them comfortable while their primary keepers are away. I usually find walks are a great way to get dogs comfortable with new people, and I love to play with pets at home as well. I can match the energy of a highly active or not so active pet, and enjoy long perky walks as well as cuddling at home.

Availability
I work part-time with some flexibility in my schedule, looking forward to looking after some cute pups on my time off! We can see if our dates line up, and I will do my best to clear my schedule, I am usually available in evenings but may be available during the day. Knowing in advance helps me organise this.
