Alex has always been what we call the beast master. Animals overwhelmingly respond positively to her. She has been studying marine and all other animal biology since she learned to read because it fascinates her. When she was 8, the only lemur in our local West Texas wildlife sanctuary would actually verbally communicate with her and let her pet him. The trainers said they have never seen the lemur react to anyone like that, not even the trainers, and the lemur got excited every time we came back. We have been frequent visitors at the Virginia Living Museum the last 10 years and they have offered her internships and volunteer positions because she knew more about the animals than many on the staff. She grew up with dogs and every one of them favored her above everyone else in the house. I spent days training our most recent rescue GSD on basic commands and she came down and did it in about 45 minutes. Animals just respond to her and love her, especially dogs. She has a gift and a charm that dogs instinctively sense. Any dog in her care will be in the best care.
