Pet care experience

I have experience with large dog breeds, particularly with American Bulldogs and Rottweilers. I understand the different dynamics and personalities of each dogs creating its own unique needs for each individual dogs. I’ve owned confident outgoing dogs as well as shy and submissive dogs. I have come to learn that their upbringing is important but also there have been studies showing that dogs have their preset personalities. Currently, I have a one and a half year old American Bulldog and despite her socialized upbringing, becomes very anxious and standoff-ish in public. She only wants to be pet when she is interested in being pet not when another human wants to pet her. At dog parks she minds her business and likes sniffing the other dogs but thoroughly engaging in play is off the table. I spoke to my vet about this and she said I did everything I could with socialization skills and it may just be the way my dog is. I have come to respect the needs and adjustments that are made in order to accommodate and adhere to my dogs personality. When I go in a busy public place, knowing that when someone asks to pet her, although I want that to be the case, I sometimes have to tell a person “You know right now really isn’t the best time.” They look at me like she is a monster, but I’m just respecting my dog’s space since my words are the only form of communication she has amongst people. I have experience with young puppies. I have raised three litters of puppies. The first litter was 9 puppies, the second was 10, and the last litter was 8. A litter of American Bulldog/PitLab Mixes, American Bulldogs, and Rottweilers. I have been watching a variety of breeds for about 8 years and took a break once I moved to California from Maryland. I grew up in a rural area with farmland where it was uncommon to not have a dog. I am accustomed to greeting dogs and taking them on walks while enjoying it.

Alexandra was wonderful with our 6 month old pittie Stavros. She sent us frequent pictures of him and even a few of out cat.:-) She was quick and responsive to our last minute request and need for a house sitter. She took great care of our boy and even brought in our Amazon packages. Above and beyond! HIGHLY recommend!

Alexandra responds quickly and was easy to work with. Our dog usually barks like crazy at new people but liked Alexandra right away. Alexandra provided pictures and frequent updates. We highly recommend Alexandra and Rover.
