Pet care experience
From Buffalo originally - in college, I would walk student’s and local’s dogs very often. You could say it was a business - it started with me walking my friend’s dog, and I enjoyed it so I branched out. My fraternity also had a dog and I would walk him as well. I love taking care of dogs and am looking for work in NYC!

Alex would be a great dog sitter for several reasons, and his experience taking care of a dog named Goofy on campus showcases his reliability, responsibility, and love for animals. I have known Alex now for 5 years and have lived with him for 3 years. He has always had a love for animals. Even though we did not have an animal when living together he made sure that he took care of his friends and family the entire time. There is not a doubt in my mind that this attention to detail, passionate mindset, as well as care will bleed onto whatever pet he ends up taking care of. During his time at school, Alex took on the responsibility of looking after Goofy, a playful dog who needed extra care and attention. Not only did Alex ensure Goofy had enough food, water, and exercise, but he also made sure Goofy was comfortable and happy. Whether it was going on walks around campus or making sure Goofy had a cozy spot to relax, Alex demonstrated his attentiveness to a dog's needs. Overall, Alex is a responsible individual with a caring mindset and would do such a great job in this type of field.
Alex is one of those people you just know animals feel safe around. Since moving to NYC, he’s been talking about how much he wants to work with dogs, and honestly, I can’t think of anyone better suited for it. He’s super responsible, genuinely caring, and just has a calm, easy vibe that animals respond to. I’ve trusted him with my own dog and never had to worry—he’s the kind of person who pays attention to the little things and actually enjoys spending time with pets. If you're looking for someone in the city who’ll treat your dog like their own, Alex is your guy.
I’m more than happy to recommend Alex as a dog sitter based on an experience he had with my cat, Arnold. While cats and dogs are obviously different, I think this story shows just how reliable and caring Alex is. Alex and I met in college and have been friends for over 4 years now. One night at school, I had to leave for a few hours to go study, and Alex agreed to look after Arnold. Arnold can be a bit of a handful considering he’s easily startled and doesn’t usually trust strangers so when Alex got to my house, Arnold immediately hid under the couch. Most people might’ve given up or left him alone, but Alex didn’t. He sat quietly on the floor and started talking to him in a calm voice, casually chatting like he was having a conversation. After about 15 minutes, Arnold slowly came out and honestly to my surprise he let Alex pet him without any problems. Almost as if Arnold has known Alex his whole life! Alex spent the next hour just sitting and letting Arnold come to him at his own pace. By the time I got home from the library, Arnold was snuggled up on the couch next to Alex, which is something I truly have never seen! Usually it takes people a couple visits for Arnold to approach them so it was clear to me right then that because Alex has such a calm and welcoming presence, Arnold felt fully comfortable, which is not a usual occurrence. If he can handle a cat like Arnold, I’m more than confident he’ll be great with dogs, too. To me, Alex’s understanding of how to handle different animals makes him a perfect candidate for the job and I couldn’t be more sure of that!
