Pet care experience
I adore animals! Dogs and cats in particular I feel the most connected to as I’ve spent the most time with them. I love to see the way each animal’s personality comes out in play, the way they seek affection, even they way they eat their food and take treats. I love learning an animals little quirks and what they tell you about them. I have a particular love for seeing traumatized dogs grow and blossom. I’ve worked with multiple reactive dogs both big and small, helping them to learn a calmer reaction to their triggers.
Reviews
Alexander is the best dog sitter we have ever had. He’s trustworthy, on time and of course loves dogs ;)
Alexander is Fantastic!! My girl is a 90 lb twitchy German Shepherd, and he is AMAZING with her! I trust him completely when he takes her out for walks. I so highly recommend Alexander!
Alexander does a great job walking our dogs. They like him a lot and Mochi who is fearful had warmed up to him which is great.
Alexander is doing a great job of walking Max & Mochi. Mochi is fearful and Alexander knows how to approach a fearful dog and reward them positively to boost their confidence. He is gentle and approaches Mochi slowly with treats and encouragement. Both Max and Mochi appear to enjoy their walks with him!

The needs of your pet are my first priority. To keep your pets comfortable and happy in your absence I stick to clearly laid out walk, play, and feeding times for any drop in visits. I always make sure to fill water bowls when I arrive and when I leave, as well as securing any areas they shouldn’t have access to. I always make sure your home is secure upon exit, checking that entryways are secure.
Information Alexander L. would like to know about your pet
My biggest concern is any reactivity and aggression issues, even with small dogs. Dogs often learn that acting aggressively will lead to whatever they are afraid of being distanced from themselves, wether that’s them being lead away or what they perceive as a threat moving away. That will perpetuate the problem and may lead to them one day actually engaged in a physical altercation. Needless to day that’s a lose for every one involved. If I know ahead of time what sets them off, I can keep an eye out for their triggers. This way I can avoid or minimize their reaction, and teach them that a calm response receives a reward. In addition to this any behavior that that is unusual or may cause them to act unexpectedly will make things much easier if I know ahead of time.
A typical day
Playing with a dog is one of the best ways to fill them with joy and burn off excess energy. Playing tug, fetch, or keep away with a dog is always an exciting and fun time! On walks I’ll help reinforce anything you are trying to teach your dogs. I have experience with teaching heel, refocusing a dog’s attention, and minimizing reactivity. Please note any training activity you want me to work on with your pup isn’t going to stick if they get a completely different treatment from other people. I’ve seen dogs perform amazingly at heel, but come Monday they’ve seem to forgotten a lot of what they learned. With that in mind, it’ll never really be possible to ween your dogs off treats for the behavior you desire, and treat costs add up.
