My extended family has and includes dogs big and small. I have enthusiastically taken care of them whenever anybody in the family needs a dog-sitter, sometimes for weeks at a time. There's almost nothing better than walking into a home and having a dog excitedly run to you, ready and jubilant to see you after a long time. I love feeding dogs, taking them for walks, playing with them at the appropriate level of strength, and sometimes just sitting with them, especially with lap dogs who sometimes just want someone to snuggle with. However, sometimes dogs need a stern, commanding voice, and years of experience have taught me when to exercise this kind of authority over misbehaving dogs. I'm a dog person through and through.
