Pet care experience
Dogs have been a part of my life since birth, and I've been training and caring for them since I was 12. In fact, I love dogs so much that after law school, when I decided I wanted to go into business for myself, I started a pet-related business! Dog-sitting is not only a source of extra income to funnel back into my business, and to save up for a house, but also a real passion of mine. Not only will your home be held down by one of the most responsible sitters out there, but I promise to love your pups like my own -- I can't imagine any other way! I have the privilege of working from anywhere, so keeping a close eye on everything is no problem, and I'm used to following detailed instructions about pets/households because of my business. I'm also happy to perform relatively minor, but nevertheless important tasks -- e.g., bringing in mail, taking out trash, greeting service people, etc. -- during my stay. You should be able to relax while you're gone, not worry about every little detail! If you have any questions at all (especially about rates), please don't hesitate to contact me. The forms on this site weren't 100% clear in their prompts, so I'd be happy to address any confusion or uncertainty. Alex is THE BEST!! We hired Alex just 2 weeks before our vacation after our previous sitter had to cancel due to a family emergency. Going with an unknown person in a short time frame was a bit nerve wracking, but Alex quickly put our minds at ease when we met. He is professional, conscientious, detail oriented, personable and loves dogs! Our pit bull mix Roxy can be a little intimidating, but Alex is very comfortable with this breed. He can do much of his work from home so he spent a lot of time with Roxy. He stayed in communication with us while we were away, sending updates and photos. Roxy was clearly happy and relaxed in our absence, which enabled us to enjoy our vacation without worrying about our baby. We have always been satisfied with the sitters we've found through Rover, but Alex is a standout and we highly recommend him! We can't wait for an excuse to hire Alex again!
This is the first time I have used Rover.com and Alex was recommended to me by a friend. I only wish I had found Alex sooner. He kept in touch with me often about my two dogs daily activities and care. I enjoyed my vacation knowing my dogs were cared for and were at home. Upon my return, my house was exactly as I had left it. Alex's care and service exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.
Alex was great with our two dogs, especially the one who has territorial issues and can be somewhat apprehensive with new folks. He took the time in our pre interview to get to know the dogs dispositions and habits to ensure they would be comfortable with him while we were away. Alex kept in contact with me before/during and after with playful videos and comments. We will definitely call out to Alex the next time we are away.
Alexander was a joy to work with. He truly loved our dogs and they felt the same way. We have three Golden Retrievers, and our family's three day trip unexpectedly turned into a six day trip -- but Alexander was able to make the adjustment and made it worry-free for us. How nice is it to find your dogs after a week away without any signs of stress, clearly relaxed, and even brushed. They were walked daily and fed properly -- we could not ask for more. The next time we need a sitter we will request Alex again. We have used Rover.com before, always with terrific results, and we recommend both Rover and Alexander to you if you're in our area (near Malvern and Paoli, PA).

I'd like to know as many things as you'll tell me! Obviously some pieces of info are more important than others -- e.g., health issues, aggression towards people or other animals, etc. -- but I do like to learn about each pet's little idiosyncrasies, preferences, and routines. I think those details go a long way toward reassuring him/her that everything is ok, and that I'm part of the pack (at least temporarily).
A typical day
I'm more than happy to go for on-leash walks, throw toys in the yard, play tug of war in the house, or all of the above! If you're interested in having me train your dog, I'm open to discussing that as well!
