Hi! I`m Alexa and I love caring for animals of all sizes and personality types! I`m a dog owner and have walked, sat and cared for dogs and cats for the past 6 years, both in my own home and the pets' homes in the different countries that we have lived in. I`m very attentive to pets' needs and have a lot of experience with giving medication, fussy eaters and working with pets that need extra love and care. I'm also good with puppies, dogs with high energy and older pets. Your pet is the centre of my attention during my time with them and I enjoy doing everything from walking them, to cooking special meals, providing stimulating games and activities for pets who want to play and cuddling for those who are more relaxed. I don't mind cleaning up if there are accidents, taking pets to grooming appointments and any other special tasks you need me to do. I am available for Dog Walking (short and long walks), pet sitting in the owner's home any time, day and/or night sitting at my home, where I have a 6 year old male toy poodle named Hugo who loves to play. Alexa is a knowledgeable, genuine person with an obvious love for animals. She is very kind, trust worthy, dependable and accommodating...and most importantly my puppy loves her. Her sweet poodle, Hugo, is a fabulous role model as well. We are very lucky to have found them and I highly recommend Alexa's services. We opted to do in-home care at her house, which is spacious and very well appointed with a variety of toys and IQ games for pups. My little guy had just gotten his vaccines and I was feeling guilty for leaving him, but Alexa knew just what to watch for and kept me updated regularly during his stay with her. I appreciated knowing my furbaby was in excellent loving hands while I was away and was so happy to see that Hugo and my puppy quickly became friends. I'm looking forward to my puppy spending more time with Hugo and Alexa so he grows up to be a good canine citizen.

My home has a large open space (dining area, living room and family room) with high ceilings leading to a patio and a fenced in backyard so there is plenty of room indoors and out for your fur baby to play, relax and enjoy. I have lots of dog and cat IQ games, toys, kong chew toys and comfy soft dog beds and towels for lounging. I have a large crate which guests can retire too if they want some quiet time. My leafy green neighbourhood has lots of open spaces, walking paths and is located next to a golf course for pretty views. We are located a 5 minute drive from an Animal Hospital in case of any emergency. My 10lb toy poodle Hugo is very social and loves playing with other dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes. He is a trained Canine Good Citizen and is up to date on all vaccines. If you prefer your dog or cat not to socialise with Hugo, Hugo is happy to be crated upstairs in a closed room while your pet is staying. Pets are allowed on my bed and furniture for lots of cuddles and so they feel comfortable and at home. Fresh water, your choice of food and treats (in line with owner instructions), frequent potty breaks, supervised yard time and walks will be provided.

I would like to get to know all about your dog to make their stay as fun, safe and comfortable as possible- their food preferences, dietary requirements, how frequent they need toilet breaks, distance and how many times a day they like to go for walks, personality quirks, likes and dislikes, favourite toy and any phobias or special needs they may have. Also, a contact number and vet and insurance information in case of emergency. All pets who come stay must provide proof of up to date vaccination and have some form of current tick and flea protection.
A typical day
While staying with me your dog will enjoy frequent walks in the neighbourhood and supervised play in the fenced in yard, lots of play time with my toy poodle, Hugo, cuddles on the floor and sofa, IQ games, chew, squeak and soft toys, games of fetch and lots of massages and belly rubs! We can also check out the nearby dog parks when it's cool in the mornings and evenings.

Availability
I live in the Doral area and have personal transportation. I am a PhD student (Public Health) so I work from home part-time on my thesis with flexible hours which can accommodate your pet's schedule. I am available early mornings, day time, evenings and overnight, for short or extended sits.
