Pet care experience
Once upon a time I worked for a no-kill shelter. We took in animals from all over the country to make sure they had a good chance at finding a forever home. From puppies to silver-muzzled seniors, I cared for them all. And now I want to bring the same love and compassion to the pets in my area. I'm a full-time freelance writer working from home while my little one keeps me company. This not only means that we would welcome some furry friends to spend the day with, but that I can devote full-time attention to the pets in my care. If they need to go out, I can take them out. If they want to play outside, or if they want to relax in a spot of sunshine, well, I've got plenty of time to spare!

I live on a fully fenced half-acre and I am not of the mind to leave pets outside unattended for any length of time. I am also just as excited for walks as my four-footed friends, and would love to have them out and about in leashed parks and on walking trails, depending on their family's preferences.

I have no breed preference, so long as the dog is well-trained. I myself have had some training in caring for both puppies and older dogs, up to and including helping them potty when they're not quite capable. I also have a very high-compassion approach to all creatures in my care. I do not yell, I do not hit. Stern tones may be used but I largely prefer to lead by praise!
A typical day
Dogs in my care will have supervised outdoor playtime (weather permitting) and possibly even trips to the park. They will also get plenty of playtime with a variety of puzzles, balls, and ropes, and lots of pets from a very attentive sitter!

Availability
I work almost entirely from home, and can devote full-time attention to any pets in my care. The only days I am out of the house for any length of time are days I've marked off on my availability, so our furry friends get the best of my attention!
