Pet care experience
I grew up with goldens, and even started my own small business as a kid called “Alexa’s Pampered Pets” where I took care of about a dozen of my neighbors’ pets throughout the summertime. As an adult, my husband and I are waiting til we have a house with a proper yard to get our first dog, so until then I love taking care of my friends and family’s dogs while they are out of town. I’ve taken care of old dogs who have trouble sleeping through the night, and need medication. Plus puppies who are hyper and need constant playtime. And everything in between. Never met a dog I didn’t like, and I find it hard not to pet every dog I see (although I always/usually! ask first..) I really am a dog lover! While I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the big dogs, my “dog-nephew” Max was a dachshund /chihuahua mix, and boy did he change my opinion on smaller doggos — what a cuddler!! No matter the size, we will get along!

Alexa was an excellent communicator throughout this, our first Rover experience. She clearly loves dogs and we felt confident that our crazy nutty border collie was in good and capable hands. AND the house was spotless when we came back.

Alexa did a wonderful job taking care of Emmy again while we were gone for 12 days. She made sure that Emmy got lots of exercise and attention. We can tell that Emmy really likes Alexa and although we know she misses us, she is very relaxed and content while we are gone. Alexa is very responsible and checks in with us if she has any questions or concerns. She sends us lots of fun pictures of Emmy. She leaves the house spotless! She is wonderful!

While at your home I want to make your dog as comfortable as possible, sticking to their routine and traditions. I am a very responsible adult who takes it very seriously having access to someone else’s home, property, and loved ones, and would never betray that trust. I leave homes cleaner than I found them, and pups just as loved on. While I can’t currently host dogs in my own home, I’m hoping that will change soon. When walking and playing with your dog, usually I let them set the pace — I’ve learned that stopping to sniff is even more important mental exercise than any physical benefit from a faster pace. But whatever you and your pet are used to is fine by me! I grew up with a more well-trained walking style for the dogs in my house, so can handle either style.

I’m a details person so the more info ahead of time the better. Not only will it help me and your dog have the best time possible together, but I also know it will give you peace of mind that I really listen and care. Anything you think is important, I think is important.
A typical day
I live a few blocks from Greenlake, so we can walk the lake and play in the dog park, and explore the quiet surrounding neighborhood that’s filled with many interesting smells (or so the dogs tell me!)

I own my own business and work out of my home on Phinney Ridge, so my schedule is very flexible to fit in walks and potty breaks for your furry friends throughout the day. I’ve been wanting to have more dog time plus a little more exercise myself so this feels like the perfect combination!
