Pet care experience
I am passionate about learning the best ways to take care of our best friends (canine and feline alike!) through nutrition, enrichment and training. If your pet is shy or easily excited that is not a problem for me. If you are working on any training with your pup I am comfortable following your training plan when I am with them. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs as I have had both. High drive or excitable dogs are not a problem for me and I also can take care of larger dogs! I am very organized and can follow any special directions you may have for me :)

Alexa has always had a soft side for animals, didn’t matter the species: snakes, bearded dragons, dogs, cats - you name it, she loved it. As her former roommate, I’ve seen her interact with many of these animals, a lot being her pets. First, I must say she is a very patient and understanding pet owner. She develops a really deep bond with every animal she comes across. She has great intuition when it comes to understanding their needs and shows so much love to all animals big and small. When she was dogsitting for a friend, she took care of the dog as if it was her own and even helped to train him. I don’t think I can come up with a better more qualified person to trust with your pet.

If you would like me to take them on an outdoor adventure or an extra long walk I am always keeping my eye out for the best dog friendly trails around Fairfield! When I come to your home I can clean water bowls, food bowls and toys if you are interested in that service. I also will bathe upon request! 🫧

Please let me know if your dog has had any reactivity in the past. I also like to know what commands your dog knows, or is working on! (Ex. Sit, come, place/bed, etc.) Do they have any health issues? A favorite toy? Any resource guarding? Do they love treats over toys, or vice versa? Are they afraid or unsure of anything? Can I bring them in the car? Anything else that you think I should be aware of?
A typical day
I love to play brain games with your dog and make sure they are satisfied on their walks - run with them, let them sniff, and bringing them to new places if they are comfortable with that :) I would love to take your dog on a hike if that is something you’re interested in (please let me know if you would like this service, if it is not mentioned I will stay at your home)! I keep all dogs on a leash or a long line when hiking to ensure their safety. If you prefer that we stay around your home that is fine too - we can play in the yard or house.

Availability
I work a variable schedule but only work 8hrs (usually 9-5). I am typically available in the mornings (6am-7:30am) and evenings (5pm-10pm) for walks and drop in visits. I am free whenever on weekends. I don’t take pets into my home because I live in an apartment and have pets of my own but I can stay at your place if you are leaving town!
