Part-time doggo shelter volunteer?
Pet care experience
My name is Alex, and I’ve wanted a dog for as long as I can remember. My family has a golden retriever, and when I moved out, I started volunteering at a local dog shelter! I’m incredibly passionate about working with dogs, and I’m looking for a side hustle that makes me, and more importantly, DOGS happy! I have limited availability during the day Monday throughout Friday, but if you’re looking for someone to pop-in during the day for 30 minutes, I’ll make it happen! At the shelter, we have all kinds of dogs—big, small, hyper, super shy; even dogs who were abused in the past and require a little extra patience and care. I love dogs, and I hope I can help you out!

Alex has owned and helped take care of her family dog Kodi since he was a puppy. She also volunteers at Shultz's Guest House, a dog shelter in Dedham, MA, that provides care to dogs in the hopes of finding their forever home. At the shelter, Alex is responsible for cleaning the kennels and beds, taking the dogs for walks and playing with them outside, before bringing them back inside and helping them fall asleep. All of the dogs at the shelter do very well with Alex and appreciate the love and compassion she shows them.

A typical day
If your dog isn’t afraid of the car, I’ll gladly take them to the local park for a nice stroll! If they do well off-leash, frisbee is an option! Otherwise, I can take your fluffy family member around your neighborhood during our walks and give him/her lots of love!
