Experienced dog lover!
Pet care experience
I have a vast amount experience including excelling in pre-vet schooling and 3 years training and raising puppies with an extremely reputable breeder at Puddleduck Boarding with very highly rated boarding, daycare, and grooming services. I also am a proud mom of two very healthy, well trained dogs, and an aunt to my mother-in-law's dog that I am rehabilitating and training successfully. I also have 3 very enriched, healthy cats who love dogs and will snuggle in a great big pile! I am an animal lover at heart, home full-time, and take my dogs anywhere I go! Your furbaby will love Camp Jimenez, plenty of play, snuggles, dog friends, and naps in the sun to go around!

Alex and her boyfriend are so kind and knowledgeable. They have a lovely home and take such good care of their own pets, that I had absolutely no qualms about leaving my fur babies with them for a few days. When I picked them up, they weren't nearly as excited to see me as they usually are, so I know they had a fantastic time! Alex is now my go-to for pet care in the Midcoast area, thank you!
Alex recently took care of my dachshund mix, Dylan, overnight. I was super nervous as this was the first time we'd been apart since we rescued him in January and, because of covid, I hadn't been able to see how he would do with other people or other dogs! Alex was such a calming influence as she approached him and then introduced him to the other dogs. She followed up with pictures and communication throughout his stay which provided me with a great deal of peace of mind. I loved knowing that he was being treated as part of the family and wasn't spendinghis time away from me locked in a kennel. I will be bringing Dylan back for "play dates"! Highly recommend!
Alex is a caring and compassionate animal enthusiast. She always works hard and to the best of her ability. Animals respond well to her firm, but loving approach. I've seen her work with multiple animals and she does a great job of getting the best out of the animal. Everywhere Alex goes she is a fan favorite.

We have a big yard and field with two runs in the backyard if a dog does not do well off leash. The dogs can also not see the road from the backyard which helps with off leash training. We also have a large front porch which my dogs love to sunbathe on and a kiddie pool for the dogs on hot days. My dogs do well off leash (especially with treats!) and I've never had an issue with the dogs going in the road. We crate the larger dog if we leave them at home alone (very rare) just to be safe as our other dog is approaching 14 years of age. We have two larger crates that can be utilized if they prefer them as a safe place. Our crate trained dog actually will lay in his crate with the door open. We do not give any people food unless it's carrots or other healthy produce scraps when cooking. We also love having our dogs snuggle us on the couch or in bed, but if that is not something you allow your dog to do we will abide by that.

Information Alex J. would like to know about your pet
Being away from the owner is inherently stressful for dogs. It is my goal to mitigate that stress as much as possible and make my home a fun place for them that they look forward to visiting. To make this possible, I would definitely want to know about medications, diet restrictions, treat preferences, training level, and the command words you use that they are familiar with. I would love to know any special quirks the pet has that could make them more comfortable, such as a specific game they like or if they like sleeping under blankets. Accommodating for these things that make your pet unique allow me to help them feel more at home and make things more fun! I also have a lot of experience training dogs so if they have any food or toy aggression (or are otherwise mischievous) this is something I can definitely accomodate but would be helpful to know in advance.

My furfamily is extremely enriched, and I plan to share every experience with your pet! We love to play in this house, have many toys, treat puzzles, a great big yard and field for running, and a large sunny deck for with a lovely view and bird feeders for entertainment. I love to walk dogs in the mowed field, by the harbor in Belfast, and through private wooded trails on different family or friend's properties. The private trails are nice because I can let my dogs run off leash without worrying about running into other dogs or people.

Some would say I'm a little obsessed with my animals. I recently got a diagnosis which makes it hard to work full or part time, but I absolutely love taking care of animals. My furfamily is my main focus, taking this time at home to make sure all their needs are met and doing any extra training or enrichment desired.
